... And I felt horrible!

I was playing a female dwarf, got to Denerim, found out he was married with a child on the way.
My character is being the 'evil' self centered approach, who really only cared for Gorim (her love from back home) and those who can prove their bravery.

Anyway, I told him he was a jerk and wished bad things on him and his "ugly wife", strictly from RP purposes.
But then whenever you start a conversation with him it  is "I hope you can forgive me my lady". If you say 'nevermind' he says "forgive me'.

I felt so bad I reloaded and did the conversation over, in a much more civil manner, we will say that was my one RP freebie.

<3Gorim, should have been a companion.

See, that's what happens when good people play bad evil characters, you feel guilty about your choices afterwards. Just tell yourself "it's only a game". Then don't shop with him anymore.

I know, but it's freaking Gorim! He's just too cool <_<. The rest of the 'evil' stuff I am set on though.

Well, for me, by the time I see Gorim again, I have 3 tall people I can play with so I don't miss him so much. Does that make my Dwarven Princess shallow?

I'm playing more from the lore that dwarves don't really sleep with the other races, so I don't plan on romancing anyone. Especially since it comes down to Leliana (chantry - which my dwarf opposes) or an Elf ('nuff said) or Alistair (who she will consider to whiny).

Gorim is a pro. He may serve me but lets be realistic here . . .

If the man says his leg is messed up and he can't fight, you're going to let him off the hook.

If the man says he doesn't feel like killing Darkspawn and wants you to go make him a sandwich, You're going to go make him a sandwich.

I don't know what the "lore" says, but after talking to Ohgren I'm pretty sure a dwarf will sleep with anything that holds still long enoughPosted Image  I guess there is always the pearl if you must have another dwarf.

Yeah, I'm making a dwarf just to see how many different people he will sleep with.

From the Dragon Age Wikia:

"Dwarves have difficulty reproducing and many dwarves consider humans and elves lesser races. For this reason, they are also against interspecies relations. Humans and dwarves can produce half-dwarves, but this is very rare. "

Doesn't mean you can have pleasure right? You just don't need contraceptives.

That's true, but not for my character. She would be all over Oghren if it was an option, unfortunately it is not. My Elf is a little sleezy though. I was originally going to romance Zevran, but stupid Leliana just had to open her mouth all cute like.

Until she gave me the whole "... and they (elves) are pleasing to look at" speech. I was pretty disgusted. I might dump her for Zev after that little bit. Just deciding if I can teach her to 'open her mind from her cultural view" or not.

Most certainly!

But really, the more I come to think about it, the more I feel like Gorim walking off to get married is in fact very much in character with him. He must think the female dwarven noble to be dead, he's crippled, he can't ever go back to Orzammar, so starting a new life on the surface seems very much like the pragmatic choice. It's not like dwarves were all idealist-like. They tend to be pragmatic when it's about finding ways to further one's own standing.

Hm... come to think about that... there sure are ways to get rid of his wife, though, after getting a paragon. All pragmatic-like.

Well, that does it! As soon as I'm done with my dalish elf, I'll play a dwarf. I just don't know yet whether she'll be a commoner or a noble. Hmm, decisions, decisions....

Well if you want the whole Gorim thing it has to be noble ;)

Can't remember if female commoners can flirt with leske or not, my female dwarf commoner was a mean brute, she just saw leske as a partner in crime... in the business sense nothing personal

Oh, so the commoner is not only a commoner, but a caste-less? Now that should be interesting. Leske, as in the dude my mage let out of Jarvia's prison?

No, I'm not dense, but I made it a point not to watch any origin trailer, or even read extensively about them. The only one I watched beforehand was more or less an accident, the City Elf one. It had the consequence that my human mage let the murder knife come out in the dungeon. Bye, bye Vaughn

Yeah, the idea is that the 'other' dwarf Leske talks about is the dwarf commoner. Going on the principal that they never became a Warden.

Yup Commoner is one of my favourite origins as you really can RP it anyway you really want without any real barriers. Dwarf Noble ranks up there too, I think they really did a good job with the dwarven origins.

I now am on 2nd commoner (avatar), really funny being in camp with him stood next to what I describe as his half-brother

Sooo tempted to try have him solo the final battle :wizard: in a "This is how Sandal would handle it" fashion.

Hehe. When I met Gorim I told him the truth :

"I'm in love too Gorim... with an elf..." One of the funniest lines ever.

Duuno maybe your Princess is taller than mine. I dont like tall people. I am short enough irl and everyone and their dog is taller than me. I want to have short people around me at least in game :(

Playing the dwarf noble origin, you can also ask about some scandal from one of the dwarves when watching the provings. He'll mention the whole ordeal with a casteless sneaking into the provings and winning. I love it how these things actually happen in the world regardless of which Warden you play... But it's up to you to decide whether they just die or rise to greatness. ^^

I wish I could be with Gorim, I'd pick him over Alistair/Zevran/Leliana any day... :( I may be wrong, but isn't it possible for the dwarf noble to return to Orzammar and become a paragon or something and Gorim will then rejoin her and become her second again? (Once you end the Blight.) I suppose that would be a pretty happy ending for the romance.

That "I will always love you" from Gorim in the dwarven noble origin just melted my heart. I think my female dwarf is going to do more than just tell him he's a jerk ;)

More than pretty happy, in my opinion (rather: my personal imagination about how things *really* went) in fact the happiest of them all (I'm still "Alistair-affected"). I mean, they wouldn't have been able to marry before she joined the Grey Wardens, because, like Gorim mentions, there'd rather have been someone of the Aeducan family ready to kill Gorim off so Lady Aeducan wouldn't marry beneath her.
But now that she's a paragon, she can do pretty much what she wants, so now there's a happy ending. Even if the epilogue doesn't say so, I'm sure Lady Aeducan would have found a way to get back what's hers, that is the throne of Orzammar. Not having to choose between treacherous Bhelen and out-dated Harrowmount who both in their own ways seem to be a blight (...) for Orzammar.
What I don't get though, is it not the male line that passes the house membership on to their children? But Oghren joined Branka's house, right? What about their children, if they'd had children? Are there any exceptions for paragons?

And no, there is no way at all to flirt with Leske. He seems rather interested in Rica, though.

Nope, my princess is so short she gets a crick in her neck from looking up at ZevranPosted ImageI like taking a short people's party of my dwarf, Zevran, Ohgren and Dog and kicking some Qunari mercenary's behind.  I'm short in the real world too, doesn't mean I can't pretend to be a "mountain climber" in DA:O Posted Image

Is there actually a way for the female noble dwarf to truly romance Gorim? I don't remember having the option to take him back to my room (a la the human noble origin) or anything like that. I went back and replayed it out of curiosity and there were some mild flirting options at one point but not much else. Am I missing some crucial point of dialogue or action?
