I've got an older copy, and I had to delete my install a while back, because I was having trouble with hard-disk space. I've recently tried re-installing on and external drive, and irritatingly, NWN2 won't install on the external. It seems like the installer for the first game only accepts the main hard drive, although MotB and SoZ seem to be willing to install on the external... so long as the main game is installed there, which I can't do with my copy.<_<

What should I do? I can't instal on the main drive, as there are other things I don't want to uninstall that can't be moved from it, and I can't fit the expansion packs as well as the main game on it in it's current state, and I basically want it all on the external drive.

I've got the Windows 2000/XP version of NWN2 and SoZ, and the Windows XP version of MotB CDs (or are they DVDs?). My computer is a MacMini running Windows 7 in Bootcamp mode. My external drive is a USB one with 1.5 Terrabytes, and I've got other programs like the entire Mass Effect series, one of the Touhou games, etc. running off it just fine.

Is there a streamlined install method I could use that uses an alternate installer if I put the disks in, and will install the updates for me as well (that took hours the last time I did that...), or some kind of technique to move the install from the main drive after installing the OC but before installing MotB and SoZ?

never heard of doing it that way - not sure if anyone ever tried but my best guess is that you cant do it that way. dependencies on os and stuff like that most likely.

I would like to find out too, as my work laptop has limited space and when I went from the old to new I lost my games cause of it. Don't know why they put such small HD's on these things these days. I keep an external for all my download files and diffrent overrides I dont' play at the moment. At the moment I can only play NW2 at home, would be nice to have all my saves and games on an external and just move from one computer to the next.

I gave up and had to delete a ton of stuff. Or at least move it elsewhere. Some of which I didn't really want to. I actually got a response from Atari support that told me you can't install it anywhere else, and they don't support the game anymore, only Bioware does, and Bioware doesn't support the game anymore... wut?

I guess the game is only left with community support at this point...
