To be fair, I didn't specify how hard I think it is . I'm just saying it's not easy.
I've tried three times using the "easy" mode - Kroguard with all the equipment - and not got past wave 5.
I'll persevere, maybe not with the Krogan, and might manage it before I get too bored.

The dynamics of the game changes when you have a full team. You can't control the spawn points and enemies any more.

Although the way I see it, what it means is that when the rest of them get taken down and refuse to gel up, I'm capable of carrying them for the rest of the wave. Now some people may take advantage of that and use me as an excuse not to gel, so if I see that happening for more than a few waves then I'll bleed out too and find another lobby.

From my experience, what usually happened though was that people actually raised their game. They wanted to outscore me, and not in a stupid way by skipping objectives either. By sticking together and trying to kill as many mofos as they could. And in some games I scored 2nd or 3rd. I don't mind displaying my banner at all if it results in a better squad with people trying to actually improve their skill.

Cyclonic IV will make it really easy.  Hazard Reactor was a good map for the lazy.  The central chamber took care of a nice chunk of each wave for me and debuffed those enemies which survived the venting.

Yes, it really isn't hard, just tedious. Know your limits (even kroguards have limits), and if you're not sure if you can safely mrrraaahh your way through a situation, it's okay to run/charge/run/charge to a safer spot and whittle the enemies down. Your priority when soloing is always personal survival.

It's not easy like bronze or silver can be called easy, but it's easy in the sense that it's doable for almost anybody if they're careful and avoid stuns/massive damage spikes.

I'm thinking about trying to get the banner the little harder way, with my favorite Drell Adept.

I don't like the banner or the title enough to ge it no matter the cost, there are some better looking banners.

It's funny how when Lone Wolf came about soloing suddenly became controversial. Before the challenge system, for the most part players either appreciated soloing (whether they could do it or not), or at worst they were indifferent to it.

But now you have a lot of haters that are in two different camps.

1: Those who aren't skilled enough yet to achieve Lone Wolf: (Sour Grapes)
"Lone Wolf banner players are selfish players" "Soloing a co-op is stupid" etc.

2: The few who are good enough to solo Platinum (Huge Egos)
"How dare they give the banner to these underlings who can only solo Gold with a Kroguard!"

In truth there's absolutely no correlation between having a Lone Wolf banner and being a team player, and soloing Gold is extremely difficult or impossible for the majority of players even with a Kroguard. It may not seem that way on BSN because it naturally would have a higher ratio of better players, plus on the internet a lot of people lie or exaggerate.

Why would anyone hate on people with a Lone Wolf banner? If anything, it gives me a sense of confidence in them that they know what they are doing. Also, it does give off a little expectation that you will perform good in a gold or platinum game.

Lone Wolf being the only exception, but apparantly too many lone wolves are ruining the reputation already... maybe I won't display any banner at all. But probably get judged by that as a complete noob.

I was pretty excited when I managed to get my banner and then I went here and it was "Lone Wolves are no team players!!!" "Lone Wolves suck!" "It takes nothing to solo gold!" And I was like "what?!"

And now I am almost afraid to show up in lobby with that banner.

Who cares what ignorant people think? I don't buy any of the "this one time at band camp I was playing ME and a lone wolf player..." stories anyway.

OT: It's a cool looking banner, the only player I saaw who got it was a Quarian Female Infiltrator, and she was very good. First by a longshot. I don't see the hate, maybe its a knee jerk reaction.

You can get Lone Wolf by soloing against the same enemy using the same kit on the same map 10 times (2 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze).

Other banners require much more time and/or more than one kit on one map:
- Spectre mastery: ~333 games (5 gold medals or equal amount of silver/bronze per game)
- N7 mastery: ~300-375 times UUGold (400k-500k XP each)
- Map mastery: at least 100 platinum-games (10 maps) OR 120 gold (12 maps) and 20 silver (remaining 2 of 14)
- Biotic mastery: Play (at least 4) different kits with biotic skills
- Tech mastery: Play (at least 4) different kits with tech skills
- Blood-Pack mastery: At least 100 games (10 waves, exfil does not count) with 5 different kits
- Commando mastery: At least 140 games (10 waves, exfil irrelevant) with 7 different kits
- Maschine mastery: At least 80 games (10 waves) with 4 different kits
- Outsider mastery: At least 80 games (10 waves) with 4 different kits
- Cerberus mastery: Several of those rare guardians
- Reaper mastery: ~3000 Husks

Not to mention all those crap-gun challenges.
You can do those solos using the same stuff over and over again in no time compared to other challanges.
Thats why people hate it.

Don't. As said in another thread, Lone Wolves are the latest scapegoats of so-called elites and whiners. Before that, it was Geth Infiltrators players and before that Vanguards, etc...
Just be glad you have your banner when you complete wave 10 Gold while the rest of the team died I know I did ; solo games taught me how to handle groups of enemies, when to retreat and when to shoot, take my time, etc...

EDIT : it also helped me giving advice to a friend last night when I was synckilled (again, wave 10 gold) and they were only 2 of them alive and the objective of "disable 4 devices" had 2 devices left

I'm on my way to a lone wolf banner, and if people judge me based on what they see in the lobby and kick me then it's their loss. Not many people can solo gold let alone platinum, so I figure to just use the banner regardless of petty insults.

I like my AR Mastery banner as it has my favourite Harrier on it. Then I got the Geth Mastery one and well, it looks hella cool with the ships and explosions and stuff, so I'm using that banner now.

My point is, perceive the banner and your own achievements how you want them, trying to find an answer to the hate is an irrelevant waste of time. Go on and enjoy the game and if they give you flak for your banner, they your time is better spent with other teammates.
