Also its harder, more time consuming. But at the same time, it is an "easy" challenge if that makes sense.

A better question is why care how others choose to play? 

Because every lone wolfer that was in my lobby, was a krogan sentinel or vangaurd using the black widow on gold.

I actually played with them to get video proof. I have seen lone wolfers play just awesomely well, but in real life, in a lobby with me, they were just campers.

So i do care, because it effects me in the progress.

Like I've said before, I went for the banner because it was the quickest to accquire but it's also ironically the only one accessible to just some of the player population even if you want to think otherwise. 

I don't think it's not accessible, I just think it's respectable. Anyone being able to solo Gold even with a high-tier kit (e.g. GI, Kroguard, TGI...) is respectable in my book. What I do not like is this whole "you have to solo Platinum to be a respectable soloist" trend ; it's elitist and disrespectful for the majority of the player base.

I'm not saying it doesn't require some degree of skill to solo Gold - it probably does, I can't be bothered to try - but the whole idea of being a "Lone Wolf" in a team game isn't really worthy of any kind of respect I don't think - it's a banner that kinda misses the whole point of a team game.

... mind, all of the banners are pretty meaningless except as an indication as to how often you've played as a given class. Biotic God = I've played Adept quite a lot; Mathmagician = I've played Tech classes quite a lot - it's a bit of meaningless fluff; cool looking meaningless fluff perhaps, but still meaningless fluff.

That being said, the bit of meaningless fluff that I want is MONSTER, because that's a REALLY cool looking bit of pointlessness


Perhaps the only one that might mean something is the Nomad (Map Mastery) banner - that at least demonstrates you've had a good deal of experience on every map *shrugs*

i don't hate it, and no I'm not jealous, I can get it easily if I wanted to.

however, it does have a negative vibe to it. I would say 99% of the people that have it, got it by just playing Kroguard vs Geth. I have yet to see anyone with Lone Wolf even come close to displaying a skill level suitable for silver let alone gold or platinum.

Right now Lone Wolf just screams out "HAY GUIZE IM GOOD I SWEAR. PLZ PLAY WITH ME!"

Platinum should be a requirement. If we have to complete Husk Level 3 to get Reaper mastery than this should also be a requirement, because at least it's possible to beat platinum.

But the banner is not the cause. Had these Black Widow Vanguards been having the "Sniper Mastery" banner, would you feel otherwise ? Or had they had a low N7 ?
Problems come from bad associations. Some people play stupidly with the Lone Wolf banner => Lone Wolves are stupid/bad/cheap/whatever. Because the banner is very visible and quite new, people tend to focus on them and tend to judge from it.

This is exactly the kind of mentality I described several posts above : elitist and disrespectful.
And yeah, killing Husks by the dozen is very comparable to soloing Platinum.

Any banner shows dedication to the game as they all take time and effort to get. Anyone who hates that hates the game so why would you worry about people like that? They hate no matter what - their loss.

Many who are acquainted with me know that I cannot shut up about Novaguards ever, because, quite honestly, it's the only kind of thing I'm good at. I get the general impression that many are wary of Novaguards because inexperienced ones are good at getting themselves killed. Once I get the Lone Wolf banner, I like to think that it's some kind of assurance for PUGs that, no, I'm not a liability.

People who know me don't need that kind of assurance because they know I can easily pull my own weight in any Gold match, be it against geth or Collectors. It's just that I don't want PUGs to needlessly worry about my performance in-game.

there's like 5 husks per match, and they give you 100 points per kill or something.

so yeah, I would say soloing platinum is a lot easier than getting 450k points from Husks.

I have my Loan Wolf banner. I did it W a Krogaurd/Talon Geth and a QFE/mattock Reaper.

I am NOTHING but a team player when I play in groups. Actually I find it EXTREMELY FUNNY that when I DO use my Loan Wolf Banner all of a sudden I get my 15 revive medals in those matches. I find it more that people in my lobby see my banner as a "CARRY MY PLZ" banner to them.

Judge me as not being a team player or an elitist because of my banner. Your loss, my gain. You lose a team player who is capable and I get to not play with a whiny redneck banner racist crybaby jealous insecure little person who gets their panties in a bunch over something as stupid as a banner.

And to elitiests I have a serious question. Let's pretend you are at one of those speed dating things. Do you go and sit down at the table w the pretty lady and since you only have 2 minutes to speak do you just blurt out. "Hi my name is Joe. On XBOX my gamertag is L33tZH@wkerzz and my EPeen size is 7 inches. I solo'd Plat in ME3MP like a boss where these other kids only did Gold, would you have my baby?

To be fair, I didn't specify how hard I think it is . I'm just saying it's not easy.
I've tried three times using the "easy" mode - Kroguard with all the equipment - and not got past wave 5.
I'll persevere, maybe not with the Krogan, and might manage it before I get too bored.

Cyclonic IV will make it really easy.  Hazard Reactor was a good map for the lazy.  The central chamber took care of a nice chunk of each wave for me and debuffed those enemies which survived the venting.

Yeah, level IV consumables... Aside from 2 or 3 from Victory packs, I've only recently started getting the occasional one from bought packs. They seem so special I've only used one so far

No I got mine on Loan from Chase bank. The interest rate is killing me though.

And who is defending the banner? That's a little foolish to be defending a banner that has no feelings. I will ask my banner if it needs defending next time I log in though just in case it's feeling hurt. I just find this topic funny. It pretty obvious the people ****ing are jealous and/or they judge people on stupid things like a banner. Hey I know lets judbe people on the color of their skin next, I bet that's a good way to tell the type of person someone is! You know instead of playing the game with them or getting to know them irl, lets just judge them on  some arbitrary thing like banner or skin color. Sounds like a good plan. 

To be clear, a lot of people ****ing about this banner sound like fools. On both sides. You shouldn't judge people based on something stupid like a banner. That's just plain ignorant.

I took like a 3 month break from ME3, after getting burnt out.  Well my break worked, and with all of the new DLC, and the addition of the N7 HQ I am back in the fray at full force.

With all of the new changes, which are excellent, I began to look over all of the new Challenge Awards.  I realized pretty quickly that a lot of them would take a lot of playing and grinding, which I am ok with because it adds a lot more depth and replay value. 

I knew I had to have a Banner as well. 

Before I even looked over the actual challenges the Lone Wolf Banner caught my eye, and it was my new goal to achieve it, no matter the cost.   But after seeing the challenges, I thought, Solo Gold - twice?   I had never tried it once.

Hmmm...let's give it a go.

Well earlier today I gave it a shot, and all I need now is 2 Bronze solo's for my Banner.

I was excited.  Tomorrow I will have my prize.

Then I come to the Boards and players seem to be getting reamed for wanting to display a banner they put some work into to get.

Why?  Why the hate?  Are people jealous?

I want this Banner for 2 reasons:

 - I love the look of it, I have several N7 t-shirts, and a sweatshirt, my screen saver at work is N7 - it just fits me.
 - The Lone Wolf name is just....cool.  In Black Ops my Banner was always Lone Wolf, so I was thrilled to see it in ME3.  I had to have it.

I see people saying it's the easiest to get. 

I disagree, it's probably "The Quickest" to get, but by no means the easiest.

I'm sure this thread has been done, but I did not take the time to research the 9 million posts, so I'm just curious to why some players are moaning about this banner.

I will Display it w/pride, if you see me online - XBOX, boot me, but don't just boot me because of a picture that I put a lot of time and effort into to achieve.

Don't be a hater.

If you like N7 so much, promote enough characters and you get N7 emblem, instead of Shepard emblem.

It's actualy much cooler, something I'd go for if I didn't have "Survivor" emblem.

But I guess the hate comes from the fact that these guys usualy try to solo in a group.
