There is nothing at all wrong with the lone wolf banner. It's a fine accomplishment and not an easy one to get for a lot of people.

One thing to caution people who solo a lot however is the following:

When you get back into group play, even 'lowly' pugs you have to adjust your game to group play. Even if you deem the group to be stupid you should work for team success. I've seen an increase in people who play a team game as if they were solo. The one less person in the group dynamic really makes a huge difference to a team.

Don't. As said in another thread, Lone Wolves are the latest scapegoats of so-called elites and whiners. Before that, it was Geth Infiltrators players and before that Vanguards, etc...
Just be glad you have your banner when you complete wave 10 Gold while the rest of the team died I know I did ; solo games taught me how to handle groups of enemies, when to retreat and when to shoot, take my time, etc...

EDIT : it also helped me giving advice to a friend last night when I was synckilled (again, wave 10 gold) and they were only 2 of them alive and the objective of "disable 4 devices" had 2 devices left

Please point out and NAME these elitist....or link to the threads aleast...cuz ALL im seeing here on the BSN is you aint cool or have any kind of skill unless you do the solo challenge.

and someone said there was never any controversy regarding playing solo before the banner....not entirely TRUE.  there has always been some beef...it aint against soloing...but individuals that go out of their way TO ADVERTISE how awesome they are for soloing.

The banner aint a problem....it is the NEED to obtain the banner so individuals can join the COOL folks....earning the Lone Wolf banner seems like a right of passage for some folks here. Elite indeed.

Honestly, no - I was just using that as an example - I've not played platinum for ages... I've got all my URs at X besides the Typhoon (IX), PPR (VII) and Collector SMG (I) so I don't really need the credits and I find Gold the most fun difficulty level.

But I've only had 4 games with Lone Wolf players; 1 I've spoken to since was having an off day but the other three weren't really able to hold their own in gold let alone platinum... but they may have all been having off days, maybe I've just had weird luck with people with that banner, maybe, like I said earlier, randoms are random even with the Lone Wolf banner.

It's no guarantee of skill level - I'm sure there are god-like players with the banner - just as sure as I am that somehow some casual players have managed to slog their way through it (for some reason).

Just entered a game.

Could not finish the objectives.

London/Collectors/Bronze.

My level 1 volus engineer was the last man standing 3-4 times in a row. I took out 2 scions (the objectives) in the process, while trying to revive the team and restore their shields.

Did not have time to get the last guy.

Guess what? the level 16 Sentinel Vorcha was the host, mr. lone wolf who went down several times.

After the game, i said that i never failed the objectives with my level 1 character on bronze, and you guys are level 16+ and a lone wolfer have got to be joking.

Tried to kick me, so i left.

Every lone wolfer i met on PC is just....a bad team player, and so far i met 7.

People keep saying that individuals with lone wolf banners are not "team players." What exactly constitutes being a team player in this game, beyond the occasional revive and helping with the objectives? Setting off someone elses biotic explosions?  Sticking to the team?  I'd really like to know.

It can be working with others to spam combos if you have a class for that, but there isn't a lot in being a "team player". It's a thing people like to throw around.

I got accused of "not being a team player" because I didn't immediately run to grab the pizza when I saw someone else going for it. What I did do however, was sit in my sniper nest and made sure no Dragoon(and tried for Phantoms, but a couple did get through) got within 20 meters of the carrier, so I'd say that was being a pretty good teammate.

Like I said, if you want someone with a Lone Wolf banner who has good manners, a mic and is a team player, just add me on Origin. I don't pretend I am good at the game but I can handle myself on Gold.

Even with Geth/Kroguard Solo Mastery is still one of the hardest ones, unless somebody actually wants to try to argue that farming 140k points with weapons on Bronze takes any amount of skill.

Im upset because of the various threads saying that the ONLY banner that takes ANY SKILL to get is the Lone WOlf banner. This emphasis on talent in this game is apparently dependant on one's skill at playing SOLO. That individuals are CLAMMERING to get it to SHOW others they have skill. WHILE at the same time they are saying other banners take NO SKILL.  

hell...there was a thread saying that multiple people with banners in a match is an indication of a successful match incoming! yet N7 means nuthin?

I'm taking my Lone Wolf banner off and never using the ****ing thing again. Sick and ****ing tired of people doing sweet **** all and then blaming you because they can't tow their own weight. I don't give a **** how skilled you are, when you're trying to shoot enemy units that move two or three feet from side to side every single second, it's ****ing impossible without using AoE weaponry. I just give the **** up. Bit it ain't skill. It's this games stupendous ****ing lag and the whiney entitlement of people wo can't be ****ing arsed to play the game properly themselves and blaming others for it.

I took like a 3 month break from ME3, after getting burnt out.  Well my break worked, and with all of the new DLC, and the addition of the N7 HQ I am back in the fray at full force.

With all of the new changes, which are excellent, I began to look over all of the new Challenge Awards.  I realized pretty quickly that a lot of them would take a lot of playing and grinding, which I am ok with because it adds a lot more depth and replay value. 

I knew I had to have a Banner as well. 

Before I even looked over the actual challenges the Lone Wolf Banner caught my eye, and it was my new goal to achieve it, no matter the cost.   But after seeing the challenges, I thought, Solo Gold - twice?   I had never tried it once.

Hmmm...let's give it a go.

Well earlier today I gave it a shot, and all I need now is 2 Bronze solo's for my Banner.

I was excited.  Tomorrow I will have my prize.

Then I come to the Boards and players seem to be getting reamed for wanting to display a banner they put some work into to get.

Why?  Why the hate?  Are people jealous?

I want this Banner for 2 reasons:

 - I love the look of it, I have several N7 t-shirts, and a sweatshirt, my screen saver at work is N7 - it just fits me.
 - The Lone Wolf name is just....cool.  In Black Ops my Banner was always Lone Wolf, so I was thrilled to see it in ME3.  I had to have it.

I see people saying it's the easiest to get. 

I disagree, it's probably "The Quickest" to get, but by no means the easiest.

I'm sure this thread has been done, but I did not take the time to research the 9 million posts, so I'm just curious to why some players are moaning about this banner.

I will Display it w/pride, if you see me online - XBOX, boot me, but don't just boot me because of a picture that I put a lot of time and effort into to achieve.

Don't be a hater.

If you like N7 so much, promote enough characters and you get N7 emblem, instead of Shepard emblem.

It's actualy much cooler, something I'd go for if I didn't have "Survivor" emblem.

But I guess the hate comes from the fact that these guys usualy try to solo in a group.

There is a hell of a lot more to being a good player than actual skill at the game itself. By your own admission you just called out complete strangers on how bad they were at a video game. That in fact makes you the bad player.  I would much rather play with those that, while not so great don't see the need to insult others rather than someone that can do all you say you did yet display a decided lack of sportsmanship.
