I'm trying to find this game that I always wanted to play when I was a kid. I only vaguely remember it. It had something to do with a carnival or sideshow. There were freaks in it. I remember there was something special about the music. It seemed like s weird neat kind of throwback. I broke out Phantasmagoria and Neverhood and am looking to expand my oldschool horizons. Also if anyone has any suggestion for strange or scary old school pc games. I'd love it. Thanks.
Name that classic PC game!

This isn't what you're looking for but a good classic strange game is American McGee's Alice. I think I can picture the game you are looking for. It's on the tip of my tongue but just can't remember the name.

No offense, but "Carnival and Freaks" could mean a whole lot of stuff.
Could you be a bit more specific? Name fragments of enemies, appearances of stuff, maybe even a fragment of a logo, a quote that someone said that you remember, anything?

Okay, from what I remever, it is a "freak" related game that takes place at a "carnival." It is in first person like myst, probably came out close to that time. I saw it on an early game awards show at the time. It also came out in proximity to bad mojo because that's one of the games it was up against.Default137 wrote...

Ifeel like the name of the game makes reference to the freaks or the sideshow. I think it might be The Residents: Freakshow but I can't even tell what that is from the pics and videos I see. Looks like an experimental music video kind of game and not what I remember seeing. But time changes things so maybe that's it.
Thanks to all for helping and suggetsions. I'm still looking for what you consider your strangest/weirdest game.

The only game I can think of that it might be, is '9 - The Last Resort'. I own a copy, but only played for a few minutes...

I think The Resident's: Freak Show is the game you were thinking of. I had it on my Macintosh back in the 90's and it wasn't really a game but more like wandering around the carnival with weird animations and movies. It was first-person Myst kind of click and move to the next screen. It was nominated for awards.
