Don´t know if this has been posted yet, but ME3 was the end of the road for Shep.

“There is one thing we are absolutely sure of – there will be no more Shepard, and the trilogy is over.”

“This is really our starting point. Now the Mass Effect universe is vast, and very, very rich. So at this point in time, we don’t even know what kind of time frame we’re going to be in. All we’re doing is more  gathering ideas from the teams, gathering feedback to see several things.”

“So first, we don’t want to make ‘Shepard 2′, or Mass Effect 4 with like, ‘oh there’s no more Shepard but you’re a soldier in the universe’. So this will be a very, very different context for sure, and nothing has been decided on the rest.”

I think it's good to begin something new.

Shepard's story is over. He deserved a better ending though.

That's fine. We don't want ME4.

That's all I saw.

Thought they already said the ME3 was the end of Shepard's story arc?

Added the Quotes from BW to the first post.

I still feel like Sheps story is not finished. I want to know if he survives or not. Creating such a hero and then leaving his fate in the unknown is a bad move in my opinion.

All good things must come to an end, as they say.

Actually, devs told about that a lot of times. ME3 is the end of Shepard's story. There will be no "ME4". But they are going to create a new game in ME Universe.

Bah. While I don't want my favorite character in recent history to get milked past recognition, and while I recognize the scope of the ME universe, the phrase "no more Shepard" hurts me a little. It's like when Gil Grissom left CSI. Dunno if I can get into it, man! Time will tell.

If Shepard's trilogy is destined to stay lying in that rubble. I'm not buying anymore Mass Effect games. It would be a betrayel to my emotions and if BioWare honestly think I will ever trust them again with my immersion. They can **** off.

If Mass Effect: Whatever has a prologue detailing what happened after ME3 depending on our choices, I'll be able to deal.

If not.. we'll see.

Good luck to them.

My ME journey ends with Shepard though, so if that's it, thanks and I'll be saving my $$$s.

The IGN article I read about this had a quote stating that BioWare is still collecting feedback from its teams and no time frame has been decided. So, they are still leaving it up in the air as to whether it's a sequel or prequel.

Why don't you just follow the wait and see and being open minded policy? It might be a good game and you might love it. Who knows?

We? Are you speaking for the fanbase, yourself and your tumor, or some other group?

Thats exactly how I feel. I have no interest in playing Mass Effect 4 so long as my Shepard remains in limbo, as far as i'm concerned the Mass effect franchise ended before priority earth.

Hmmm ... if they don't want a Shep 2.0, why even add control as an ending option?

It's not so easy, building out of wreckage. Guess they'll be 'collecting feedback' from their teams for a good while longer.

That's how I feel but that's nothing to do with a new game, it's to do with fixing the current one. IMO having a new set of characters for a new Mass Effect game is the sensible thing to do. As much as I'd love to see a lot more of Shepard and crew it's time for someone else to take the limelight.
