Remember the pre ME3 release lies.
I don't trust them, they're just as likely to use Shep as they are not too.

Yeah, and even though it's clear Bioware representatives read this thread, I wouldn't hold your breath for a response to this.

“So first, we don’t want to make ‘Shepard 2′, or Mass Effect 4 with like, ‘oh there’s no more Shepard but you’re a soldier in the universe’. So this will be a very, very different context for sure, and nothing has been decided on the rest.”

Yes, and they also said that ME3 endings would be totally unlike anything in the industry... which turned out to be exactly identical to Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

So when they say that the next ME game will be very different, we know that it will be "Shepard 2.0" exactly.

Besides, what kind of game are you going to make, having eliminated the "soldier in the universe" universe? Assuming that they don't make the protagonist an accountant (with inexplicable rifle mastery), they'd have to do an entirely different genre and that seems... risky for Bioware and unsatisfying for ME fans.

If it's a sequel and we can't import save to have any sort of cameos from old characters (Shep included, if alive) then I'd be really disappointed.

But to be honest, the only thing I truly don't want is a game set during Reaper War. I want a game that has NOTHING TO DO with the Reapers. Either sequel where Reapers are dead once and for all, or some sort of cool prequel like Deus Ex Human Revolution was.

Yes. Repeatedly. Casey said it. Miek Gamble & Mac Walters have said it. Jessica and I have said it.

Commander Shepard's adventures took place in ME1-ME3 (and DLCs). We are working on another ME game, but it is not a Commander Shepard game.

We have no other details as to what the new ME game will be, who what where when, etc it will be. It will likely be over a year before we start talking about what the new game will be, but you're welcome to contribute what you would like to see in it until then.

1. Make a RTS which takes place in First Contact
2. Make a prequel with Proteans
3. Make another prequel with Jacob or some alliance soldier during reaper war
4. Witness the rage
5. Mass Effect 4 with Shepard

Given the successful connection we have to Shepard, I'm incredibly surprised they're willing to throw it away in this day and age of sequels and remakes.

Saddened by it. They could easily fill another trilogy without even coming close to 'milking' shep and his crew

I think the next Mass Effect game should be about martial arts and magic, and be set in eastern fantasy, and be Jade Empire 2
I really want Jade Empire 2 -throws wad of money at screen-

OK, but Casey also said something about "no ABC endings", "there will be tons of different endings" and similar stuff so he is not the most credible source of information.

quote from Casey Hudson in response to the ending controversy:

“And we’ll keep listening, because your insights and constructive
feedback will help determine what that content should be. This is not
the last you’ll hear of Commander Shepard
.”

This quote seems contradictory now, unless he was only referring to pre-ending ME3 DLC, which would be LAME.

Pss... excuse me if your words weight less than a grain of salt.

Poor Shepard, lying there, in the middle of some rubble, forgotten. It's so easy for some people to don't give a rat's ass about the past, and they call it "move on"... that's a big excrement.

Bioware representatives have contradicted themselves constantly since hooking up with EA. Step by step, they seem to be losing touch.

Good God.  No wonder they want to just shake the Etch A Sketch and start completely over with a new game.  They can't seem to do anything ME3 related without falling all over themselves.

I bet Priestly reads our replies and thinks "Why do I even bother?"

I can understand it being discouraging. Like there's just no way to please these picky fans. I'm sorry for that, but can't you guys understand that we feel ignored and deliberately avoided?

Well, I know one thing for certain. I won't be purchasing any Bioware related products anymore. Thanks for leaving Shepard in that rubble, your most iconic character you have ever made and not doing anything about. With one speckled failure at the end of a plot ridden game you have trashed such a beautiful series.

OK. Just make DLC for this game a long time and I'm cool with that.

ME3 was the end of Shepard's journey just like Halo 3 was the end of the Chief's journey.

So master chief died at the end of Halo 3?

Also, Halo 4 is a different studio than Bungie.

I really don't care what type of game it is. Mass Effect is a fantastic IP and I'd love to play any game made in that universe.
