At least you guys need to end the Shepard's story properly before making another ME game. Why the heck you all leave Shepard in rubbles just like that? It really pissed me off. :pinched:

Yup, that's what I keep saying

Finish ME3, then work on ME4

Seems like they're just letting go of us fans who don't think they truly finished Shepard's story and moving on. They'd rather be EA's b*tch.

This is neither logically or gramatically sensible. Care to try again?

After you stop stealing my avi. <_<

I've been using this avatar longer than you've been on BSN, whipper-snapper.

Well, I'd say Bioware's treating us like the 47%, but that's gone over people's heads in the past...<_<

You say a lot of things. On some occasions, you're even correct.

In this case though, no. The only persecution here is the sort you bring with you.

Persecution?  No, I wouldn't say that.  More like being blown off as being so unimportant it's not even worth the effort to engage.

Thought they already said the ME3 was the end of Shepard's story arc?

Yes. Repeatedly. Casey said it. Miek Gamble & Mac Walters have said it. Jessica and I have said it.

Commander Shepard's adventures took place in ME1-ME3 (and DLCs). We are working on another ME game, but it is not a Commander Shepard game.

We have no other details as to what the new ME game will be, who what where when, etc it will be. It will likely be over a year before we start talking about what the new game will be, but you're welcome to contribute what you would like to see in it until then.

Thats cool, goodluck to bioware and the devs on mass effect 4
I won't be buying it, or any other mass effect game made.
Not because of the ending but because of the way this company treats it fans.

Bioware is better off without those so-called 'fans'.

Why is this even news? We all knew ME3 was the end for Shepard and the ending sees him either dead, dying or God. Nothing wrong with starting fresh with a newer, more interesting protagonist.

On one hand I'm happy that Shepard can finally rest after all that crap she/he went through but on another I don't feel like my Shepards story is properly finished.

O well guess Shep stays in Limbo after Destroy, gotta say I already don't like the next game, but I'll youtube it to see how the story and characters are, if anything the MP might be the best and most addictive/exciting part about it,but still less likely to get.

Again, whether Shepard survives is very, very simple:

If you think he or she survives, than they do.

If you think that he or she dies, than they die.

Quite frankly the "ultimate fate" is irrelevant because there won't be any more Shepard. Any sequel will likely be set far enough in the future that Shepard (assuming yours lived) wouldn't still be alive anyway, rendering the problem a moot point.

Technically, it would be Shepard 3.0. Because s/he technically died already and already was Shepard 2.0.

I'd love it if Bioware went back to the "silent hero" ala Dragon Age: Origins. I have like....14+ different playthroughs.

If ME4 would be DA:O-like, imagine being able to play a Krogan, Turian, Asari or even a Geth who'd rise up to be the "hero" who would embody the ideals (or douchebaggery) of "The Shepard".

Obviously, a new threat would be needed. ;)

<- Would love to play as the first Krogan Spectre. ;)

After the pathetic effort
that was ME3, I have zero faith in Bioware. I sadly just can’t get excited
about anything ME related… what’s the point? It’s all a joke in the end anyway.
You guys at Bioware really let your fans and yourselves down. ME3 felt like a
major FU to me and the fans. WTF were you chaps thinking? I mean… how ? F*ck me…..
is there zero quality control, did no one just step back for ten seconds and
say.. “this breaks the series, it’s nonsense and makes zero sense!!!!”. The
game flaws are all well documented on the site.

Your games may have more “polish” but they losing their soul… WAKE
UP!!!! Sorry, this is why you at BW / EA will not see another cent from
me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, BioWare need to properly finish the Shepard's story in ME4.

To echo an early reply:

Yes, Bioware has said several times that ME3 is the end of Shepard's story. That is as it should be. However you interpret Shepard's fate at the end of ME3, that story is finished. Done. It's time for other characters, places and maybe even times of the ME universe to get their story, and it's time to tell a story different in tone and in scope.

I'm looking forward to it. Things will only be problematic if this story is set after the events of ME3.

Yes, but it isn’t unreasonable to find companies change their minds due to consumer demand.

If a company was famous for making black shoes with white stripes that everyone loved, and the company suddenly decided to make a line of white shoes with black stripes that consumers disliked – disliked enough to swear off shoes all together and go barefoot, it would not be unheard of that the company would return to making the black shoes with the white stripes. So, even though it has been said Shepard’s story is over, some still choose to discuss why they would like it to continue.

Speaking as a consumer who owns almost every Bioware game, I'll add my voice to the, "More Shepard, please." Regardless, I'll continue to buy Bioware games. I love the writing and character depth you can't find in other places.

Firstly it's amusing how many idiots post on a thread about a new game that they hate everything about it, and will not buy it.

1. What are you doing in this forum in the first place. Just ****off back to CoD and leave genuine fans to discuss the future.
2. Is your life really so small that you feel the need to troll on game threads you have no interest in.

Secondly, I was very pleased to hear what BW are doing with ME4. It opens up all kinds of possibilities.

I was thinking of maybe a magnificent 7 / Battle beyond the stars (look it up) kind of game. Where your character is just an ordinary joe (alien?) recruiting mercenaries. Just one idea.

I would be interested to hear anybody elses ideas (Message to BW - It's time to ban the trolling haters - they've had enough oxygen now - get rid of them)

If Shepard's trilogy is destined to stay lying in that rubble. I'm not buying anymore Mass Effect games. It would be a betrayel to my emotions and if BioWare honestly think I will ever trust them again with my immersion. They can **** off.

@ hostaman,

BW are making their games more for the COD crowd, maybe you should be careful about using the word idiot? The reason people are here still is because some of us have been fans of BW for a very long time and we can see the slide in the quality / direction of their games.
