If Shepard's trilogy is destined to stay lying in that rubble. I'm not buying anymore Mass Effect games. It would be a betrayel to my emotions and if BioWare honestly think I will ever trust them again with my immersion. They can **** off.

Thats exactly how I feel. I have no interest in playing Mass Effect 4 so long as my Shepard remains in limbo, as far as i'm concerned the Mass effect franchise ended before priority earth.

Exactly same feeling!

Good luck to them.

My ME journey ends with Shepard though, so if that's it, thanks and I'll be saving my $$$s.

Why don't you just follow the wait and see and being open minded policy? It might be a good game and you might love it. Who knows?

It's a fair point, but my enjoyment and satisfaction across the series has been by the law of diminishing returns. For people who love the universe and want to go in a different direction, as I say, good luck to you all.

Well we've seen how all their plans (don't) come together, and I have no further desire to invest my time or money in a company that would toss aside quality and content with each installment.

That's how I feel but that's nothing to do with a new game, it's to do with fixing the current one. IMO having a new set of characters for a new Mass Effect game is the sensible thing to do. As much as I'd love to see a lot more of Shepard and crew it's time for someone else to take the limelight.

Maybe, but if you don't tie up loose ends before you decide to walk. You're going to trip on your shoe laces.

Well this is my problem.

I played ME as a character-driven story. In the end, ultimately, I wasn't satisfied. As such I have no plans to invest emotionally in future games.

So, thanks to BW for the most part for creating a great series but ME4 will be where we part ways.

I just started reading the first ME book which I am loving. If there will be no more Shepard in the coming games can we at least get a book or two about his earlier life and so on? Whoever writes it can be ambigious about whether Shepard is a man or woman by always saying "Shepard said" instead of "he said".

I love Commander Shepard and I personally would love to see more of him in the games but I would settle for a book :)

After Mass Effect 3, I'm not exactly looking forward towards another Mass Effect game, even if it does have a new protagonist.

"Nothing like" really? So nothing like ME2 Shep or nothing like ME3 Shep, no this their chance to introduce a pre-rendered auto-dialogued linear as hell character that can put even less effort into.

GOOD. Shepard and the Warden can join the Lone Wanderer in the hall of gaming fame and they can stay there. Make room for something new!

well for me i might get into it, as long as it is not synthesis. i get it as a choice but i like the ME universe as is you know, not some f8cked up version.

so i will still hold out hope that they will have a nice happy ending of the geth and quarians working together , like they were in my game . without needing synthesis. and the races united like never before. i mean with reading the codex there was a lot of loss prior to the final battle. anywho , would be fine with shep sacrificing him or herself to stop the reapers. so my point is i won't mind a new mass effect game as long as it does not have anything to do with reapers, other then some codex entries and some ppl bringing them up. don't want them in my new game. oh and as said no synthesis lol

so again my point is mainly . i am iffy on it. mass effect does seem to end with shepard for me. but will keep a open mind . may check it out may not. but if it is based on synthesis i won't buy it, why buy something based on my least fav ending . and just because it is a big change to a universe i like . oh and well other reasons

and iffy on control. just because i would prefer not to have gthe reapers involved in the next game. and well with the reapers playing police force for the who galaxy i doubt there would be much going on .

so , if it is based on a better destroy ending, maybe just sacrificing shepard and edi , letting the geth and quarians make peace and work together like they were prior to the end . i would consider buying . at least that way there would be more closure for shepps story , rather than ending it with soo many unknowns

but that is just my take . probably a poorly worded take at that

Good, now make the protagonist a special agent and set the game before ME1.

" So first, we don’t want to make ‘Shepard 2′, or Mass Effect 4 with like, ‘oh there’s no more Shepard but you’re a soldier in the universe’. So this will be a very, very different context for sure, and nothing has been decided on the rest.”

So no more reapers. Confirmed. Either moving with leviathan or going back into a prequel. Maybe they are going to abandon rpg gaming or maybe they create an MMO for the first contact war. MMO is more likely.  Something is telling me that EA will force them to abandon SP games.

Ditto.

However i will give them credit for having the balls to follow through with this. No Commander Shepard means a loss in potentional sales, but at least they can start over completely fresh.

But here's the problem. This all leads me to believe that they won't set the game after the events of ME3, and that i think is a foolish move. If the game was set after the events, a lot of people including the ones who swore of Mass Effect, will probably be curious to see how the galaxy has turned out and what it's become. I know plenty of others feel the same way but speaking for me personally, i'm not gonna want to play a prequel. Mainly because i know what it's all leading up to, and it'll just put a bad taste in my mouth.

well one if i recall ea did say during e3 that all their games will have mp. but i don't think a mmo being set during first contact would work., considering it was on one planet, and didn't last long

maybe a fps , which eh to that idea . would prefer another rpg myself

I highly, highly, doubt that. With SWTOR's lack of success and price budget. I don't think they'll be in a rush to make a $200 million dollar MEMMO.

May Mass Effect 4 crash and burn to give the legacy a death it deserves.

To be fair i called this a few days back,i said they'd start with a default antagonist, thing is will we be able to create our own version or is that what shepard.2 means that they wont be allowing us to create but rather a default hero of which if that's the case i'll definately be out as that's one of the reasons i couldnt get into the witcher 2............we'll see though. But it's not looking great as there the bearer of bad news lately.

I think having Shepard as the protagonist would be easier than having a new one.
