Are you happy with the current state of the MP? What would you have the live-team work on?

This is more of a recommendation than a question, and I'm sure you or the team have considered it, so I was just hoping for comment.

Now that you have a challenge system that rewards a specific pack for completing a specific challenge. Many newcomers are now inundated with the vast array of rares. The tonnes of content is fantastic. But the newer people have little to no chance of getting decent items for quite some time, so that while their skill is top notch, their loadout cannot complement it.

What I would suggest is this.
Take one weapon, from each class of each rarity (think MP demo selection days, excluding any ultra rares) and create an achievement which unlocks the first level of each. That way, you could introduce people, give them a specific goal to work towards with a guaranteed reward to get them started.

I'm not a new player I know, but I understand the difficulty of unlocking stuff when there are vast swathes of possibilities and all you have is a random number generator. :D

Hey Derek,
Has there been any discussions on adding a banner selection to the Lobby, something that could utilize the right and left joystick click buttons? they don't do anything. Something that could bring up a quick select menu above the screen allowing you to switch the Challenge banner to what you want at the time? Also, is there any talk on harder difficulties?

Take about a quarter of the existing rare characters/weapons that are not badass and set them as uncommons so they are easier for new players to get. Bring in more rare weapons to replace what is switched to uncommon.

Are you tempted by holiday seasons, e.g., special things showing up on halloween? I'm sure it's a lot of work, but it's so much fun. Banshees riding broomsticks across the sky would certainly get attention. I love the Krogan heavy melee laugh, I'd love for them to suddenly gain a white Santa beard during December as they laugh. If you've ever seen the Captain Morgan commercials, many of us have talked about how much fun it would be to see the geth gain the captain's pirate hat and eye patch at the moment of the foot-up-in-the-air for the Captain Morgan pose. Or gear that lasts for a short event like this and then disappears which allows non-Krogans to do the ceremonial headbutt (perhaps telling someone to not whine at the same time).

We intend (at least at this point) to keep each one a surprise.  We had intended not to accidently show our hand on them but the preverbial cat is meeerrrrrooooww...right out of the bag.

We intend to keep the map rotation random as well.  You CAN expect one map to be a non-damaging hazard and one damaging.

Any chance of throwing us a hint every week that's so vague, that our brightest minds here will only be capable of nailing the class down to like, four possible options? I think that'd build hype.

Why not incorporate the female skin for the Shaman like most were asking for? It would have been a unique look and most associate an adept Krogan with the female. I think quite a few were disappointed that it was just a reskin of the Battlemaster.

Hey Derek! I love behind the scenes creative process kind of stuff, and I've been wondering if you could give us some insight into what goes into the making of these powers and what both they and the characters look like? Do you guys just just find cool models and stuff in the files you like to see and edit them, or do you think of the powers and then create them aesthetically? An answer would be awesome. Also, you was the brilliant mind behind giving the new Turians ****ING JETPACKS!

Hi Derek, just a quick question,

When we get the Drell infiltrator..will the damage on their recon mine detonation be determined by cloak status when it was planted or alternatively when it is detonated?

Also, given the devs are very happy with the ME MP experiment, do you think ME4 will have mp also (or perhaps even an entire mp dedicated release?)

Can someone at BW decide to raise or lower the rate or quota for card categories, in selected packages?
To add more or completely remove selected card?

Just wanted to thank you for doing your job very well. It's gotta be hard to deal with the overwhelming negativity that is the Bioware boards at times, yet you always maintain the utmost professionalism.

Your company has made a great game and the people who play it love it. I've never been hooked on a single player / multi player combo that is the Mass Effect series before in my life. Yall should be proud to work on this incredible franchise!
