I have never experienced this before with a video game.
I can't seem to stop playing this game.
When I am done, I just start right back up again.
I actually miss the companions (especially Morrigan).
I don't know if the characters are written so well that they seem like real people or if I just need a life.
Most likely the latter of the two.
I can't believe that I am in love with a woman who is not real....hahahaha.

You know, you're not alone. There is something very compelling about this game. I am exploring every option, every dialog choice, every party configuration to see what surprise dialogs come up . . . and yes, the characters are extremely real feeling. Fantastic game!

I know...right.

I actually miss Morrigan.

I was so pissed off with the ending.

That's why I'll never play a MMORPG like World of Warcraft or Guild Wars. When I buy a new game I always get addicted to it.

Sometimes when I'm not playing Dragon Age I still think about it. What shall I do next? Is everything Morrigan told me true?

Ever since Dragon Age was released I've been playing it for at least 2-3 hours a day.

I sure hope they have a sequel and will include a lot of the same characters.

If they do have one, it will probably take years.

It is funny...my first couple of playthroughs, I tried to find a way to trigger her not leaving at the end, but I guess it is not in the cards.....I finally gave up.

Well Bioware has stated that Morrigan will return. So perhaps we'll see her again in DA2 or an upcoming DLC.

By the way, I do think she is telling the truth.
At least in my opinion.
I think she loves the male PC and so she pushes him away as she knows that she must leave.
I think she leaves because she knows that Flemmeth is eventually coming back and she fears for her lover's life.
I think Flemmeth's grimore showed her how to kill Flemmeth once and for all but it requires this ancient god baby with the Grey Warden's taint.
Even if you play the game as a female PC or a male PC that is just friends with her. She still needs the baby to save herself from Flemmeth when Flemmeth returns eventually. I think Flemmeth needed the baby for herself but after reading the grimore, Morrigan wants to save herself now. If you tell Morrigan when she makes the offer to you that you refuse it totally, then that you don't want to lose her, she says..." I am already lost".
I think the sequel will be about this.

I found something interesting when I have done some of my playthroughs.

If I sleep with her or have one of the other Grey Warden's sleep with her to have this baby, she is at the camp after the epilogue.

But, if you refuse her offer and you die, she is not at the camp after the epilogue save. (which is before the final battle).

This game is addicting. I'm going on my 3rd playthrough :D

In regards to Morrigan, well yes she did in fact love the PC, but she left because she felt she had a responsibility. She admits that in the end with the Dark Promise offer.

Flemmeth initially had her go with the Wardens to offer them the ritual in the end. She claims that was her plan, but falling in love with your character wasn't expected. And so she decides that in order to fulfill her mission and keep the person she loves from dying, she must do the ritual.

Flemmeth probably had her go with the Wardens and attempt to do the ritual so that she could possess the child with the old god soul. That might have been her plan. She may not have wanted to possess Morrigan at all. That Grimoire did say she does it with her daughters, but she might have seen an opportunity to do the same thing, but with a more powerful being. That might have been her reason.

THANK YOU. I thought I was the only loser in this world who could love a game enough to play it five times, and when I'm not playing it, imagine what I WOULD do if I played it.

Oh lord, what are we going to do.

Interesting theory but I'm pretty sure Flemeth would at least kill Morrigan. "Thank you for performing this ritual Morrigan *Dragon's Breath*

I've beaten this game five times now, and I still want more. I've stopped for now mainly because I've been playing the Xbox version. I finally got all the parts to build a new, nicer PC and I should be getting it running in a few days, so then I can play Dragon Age on it. I'm resisting the urge to play so I can experience the epicness of the "proper" game version.

That, and I need to find a job/continue working on personal projects. Ehehe. But yes, this game is WAY too addictive. And dammit, Mass Effect 2 comes out in a month. I'll be unemployed and unproductive forever! D:

I suppose your right, she may not have wanted her to know how she expands her life span.

Oh my god I know what you mean...

I have spent SO much time on this game and in these forums...

It's kind of sad.

I am a 19 year old girl blowin off all my friends to hang out with my DAO homies HAAH.

I've played all the origins, beaten the game 3 or 4 times, and have 2 more games in progress now. I can't wait for Return to Ostagar.

But it's so much fun :)

If it weren't for Mass Effect 2, i wouldn't even know what Dragon Age is. I pre ordered the CE, but the wait was killin' me so i picked up Dragon Age. I honestly didn't expect to like it, but oh my God this game is soo good. I almost don't even want to play Mass Effect 2, but continue playing this. I didn't think i'd like it at all, just thought it be a good game to get me by for about 45 days. I'm so addicted to this game now. And the 2 year DLC? Don't even get me started.

I even saw somewhere, and i don't know if this is true or not, that theres a full expansion pack coming out in March, the 3rd i believe, that features new locations, quests, characters, and more. There was a thread about it on here somewhere, i'll see if i can dig it up. But if that rumor is true, then i might need to quit college and play Bioware games full time!

I think this is Bioware's magic. They do great games and you eventually fall in love with them; especially with the characters in them.

I can't remember how many times I re-started NWN just to hear Aribeth's and Sharwyn's voices and hang out with them. (In my days romances ain't what they are today. Doh! Am I sounding old? :D)

After seeing the awesome job Bioware did, I am more interested with toolset tho'.  Not that I don't like game anymore after my 2nd playthrough.

For characters as I fascinated with Alistair at first, didn't give Morrigan so much chance. On my second play through I saw how well designed/developed character she is. Never romanced her other than for achievement but her conversations about friendship is more touching than any character in game. I was really happy to have her along for the last fight on my second run (did the ritual). Her farewell talk is so touching. As now I can be on good sides of both her and Alistair my new run is going better. I hope we can see more of her in future.

Have fun and Happy new year. :wizard:

BG1&2 did it to me ages ago, and now DAO. So yes, Bioware does something right obviously ;)

Yeah, I'm still playing it. I need to stop for a month or so and get some work done before ME2 comes and destroys another month or two of productivity.

And after I finish this game, I'll start over again!

So do I get to join the club? I warn you, I can't attend meetings as I'm to busy playing the game....

Heh! Preaching to the Choir my friend. I am on my Ninth (soon to be 10th) run-through each time choosing to go with different companion combinations and doing things differently.
For example, this time I choose to have Morrigan with my group for the entire run so, yes, that means that I will have to do the dark deed with her later at Redcliffe, but she surprised me at the circle of the mages during our first meeting with Wynne.
Previously, I had always chosen to get Wynne first because she's the "real" healer but this time I went to Ozzamar first (being a Noble Dwarf and all) so when I eventually went to the circle, and on that meeting with Wynne when Morrigan went on her tirade about how the circle mages were sheep and I told her that had things been different she could have been one herself, she had a change of heart, questioned what Flemmeth thought her and agreed with me! I was like OMG! This is Morrigan?!
This above everything, the way your companions feel alive and react differently depending on what you do makes for a gaming experience that I had never had since Buldar's Gate 1 and 2.

Now if only they'd allow me to crown myself instead of Bhelen or Harrowmont I would be happier then a nug wallowing in mud.

Past couple weeks have been too hectic to play much, but I find myself thinking about it a lot and have been caught a few times talking about it to myself while doing mindless chores.

Was doing the dishes at my brother's after Christmas Eve dinner (his GF's tradition) and I saw a bird and muttered something about Shale and pigeons. My brother heard and asked who's Shale and why doesn't she like pigeons? He face palmed himself and walked out.

It'll be at least a week till I can sink a decent chunk of time in, so I expect it'll get worse.

Good to see I'm not the only DA addict. I've been playing this game since it came out, and just started my 4th playthrough. Only took a 1-week break to replay Mass Effect in preparation for ME2, and then I was back at it. I haven't seen all the endings/romances/origins, and I still need to beat the game on nightmare.
