Does anyone get the impression people want Dragon Age III to suck?

No, I don´t want it to suck. But they are doing a good job to make it look so. Again we are limited to human, for non specified reasons. If money it´s not the reason, it looks whenever the dev team must face a challenge they take the easy way of cutting it out. Nothing new, the ME team did the same.
How do you know we are limited to playing Human? Has there been a cinfirmation of it?

It was confirmed yesterday. Dragon Age Origins was a game where I could create a character that was my own. When they announced that in DA2 you could only be human I was afriad that the character would not be mine and it turned out that he wasn't. I want another Dragon Age game to give me my own character like Origins did but so far it looks like I won't get that from 3.

Ok...so I get to play a character Bioware has created for me again (Hawke2.0). So much for roleplaying.

There was a thread where we could talk about that but Bio closed it already.

I actually want DA3 o blow my mind. I want it to be good. Origins as you know set the bar very high for Story driven RPGs. DA2 didn't set the bar very high. Its natural that people be a bit skeptical about DA3. Most see it as Biowares last chance to redeem themselves. I know I am one of those people.
Although I must say I don't want the game to suck. But I know what you mean many people are being negative about the game when all we know is that the name of the game is called Dragon Age Inquisition and that Bioware taking an interest in fan feedback.
To me its Bioware's last chance to redeem themselves. I plan on pre ordering this game but holding off on getting it until a few days later. I wanna see user reviews before I spend my money on it.
I found Origins to be a little Generic.

Well...considering we have to play human again, and multiplayer is being added (never a good thing when it gets added to single player games), I am now more sceptical. I hope the game ends up mediocre, at least.
I dont understand Bioware. They said they would take fan feedback to try and make a better game but so far all they have put in the game is stuff we didn't ask for.

While i don't think that only having one race destroys roleplaying, the guessing game that is the dialogue system have already done that, it does hurt replayability. Replayability is very important for some one like me who don't "do" multiplayer since i think $60 is too much for "just" 30-40 hours of gameplay.
Edit:
Not that it really matters because i posted in the "deal-breakers for DA3" thread on the DA2 board a couple of months back that the two dealbreakers i had was multiple races and knowing in advance the line delievered by the protagonist. Since the latter was debunked a while back by David this news won't really affect my wallet.

I agree completely. Replayability is pretty much what makes an rpg great. The BG series had that. People are still playing those games, and modding them too.

I found that the Origins way of dialouge is much better than the wheel. Because with the wheel my character can only be nice, mean, or funny.

I player through Origins many times becasue I coule always make a new character that I felt was my own character. I played DA2 once becasue once I was done I had decided that there was no other way to make Hawke feel like I made him.

I am thinking the same thing. Being forced to play human was a rather major complaint about DA2. Fans have been whining about not wanting MP in Dragon Age as well. Now Bioware pretty much gives them 2 things the pretty much asked not to get.

Don't even get me started on how many hours of my life the BG series have stolen from me. Havn't played it for five years and now they are releasing the enhanced edition. Just when i thought i was out they pull me back in!

I don´t see them as wanting the game to fail, but lately BW as a whole seem to be doing games with as little effort as possible, rather than going for a game as best as possible it´s trying to see with how little effort they can get a success. When so many other companies are doing the exact opposite, it shows. When even the story and characters, BW usual stronger point, also fails, then we are for rather average games for a company that gave as great ones.

I wouldn`t say they don`t put effort into it. Despite the ending, the Mass Effect looks and plays amazingly.. The third one never felt rushed either. Simplified and dumbed down, yes. But i could tell there was a tremendous amount of effort being poured into the production of it.

that's the sad thing. I loved a lot of Bioware game and stories. I don't want to be uspet with it. but they do as you say.

It was a huge complaint but i don't think Bioware thinks that the average BSN poster represents the average player of their games. They probably survey their fanbase in some other fashion.

The fact that Bioware closed the thread where we were talking about the loss of race selection just shows me that they would rather hide from fan conserns. They said it was because we were not being civil but we were just talking about our conserns cause most of us want this to be a game that fans of origins can be happy with. We didn't get that with DA2.

I don't understand. They claim they listen to us but the majority of us say NO MULITIPPLAYER. If they were listening to us than they would say, "Hey you know what people really don't want multiplayer. Lets leave it out." They put in anyway. And now all the sudden ME3s multiplayer is critically acclaimed?!! When did this happen?!?!
I hope DA3 is amazing but honeslty its not looking good right now.
ME3`s multiplayer is critically acclaimed? By who? I think its fun and all, but for the most part people were pissed off by it, since it influenced the single player campaign. Truth be told; i belive its EA pushing through the multiplayer bit. i remember seeing some article where EA said all of their games would have multiplayer from now on.
