Well, I'd prefer Vampires over yet-another-zombie-game. But to be honest, I'm getting sick 'n tired of the whole undead thing that's been going on in the games industry for the past 5-6 years.

you see here we go, I told you someone was going to want zombies and next thing you know they are going to start a topic on it.

I don't want zombies. I was commenting on his "overplayed" remark. There is even a zombie TV series to go along with the two vampire series that are on.

Technically, I think many fantasy games, including Dragon Age, already have "zombie" type creatures in the various walking corpse monsters we have to deal with.

Definitely.  The werewolves were well done in DA:O (particularly without being able to change back and pass: once they went wolf they stayed that way).  If vampires and zombies show up, they should be related to lore and perhaps the focus of a quest series like the werewolves were and not running rampant all over Thedas.

And if BioWare releases a DLC in which we can become a vampire I will personally go to Edmonton and kick David Gaider in the shin.  <_<

Vampires should be able to inflict hunger pangs in victims, cause famine just by their presence, damage crops, toxify water, etc. Hunger demons shouldn't really be a generic demon with weaker attributes and weaker spells.  They should be quite dangerous in the material world.

While we're at it, let's get Lady Gaga and Katie Perry to co-write the soundtrack and have an option for all our armour to come in bubblegum pink, complete with flashing L.E.D's. Perhaps the addition of an in game handbag poodle too. Oh, and can Paris Hilton be the new Lead Writer?

I love all those guys too. I was just raging unspecifically at peoples need to homogenise existing original creations with over used pop culture references for no other reason that 'It'd be cool'. It gets my goat. DA can stand on its own without any of the above (or far worse) archetypes invading it.

I wouldn't mind seeing them. Ferelden's based on medieval Europe and we all ready have werewolves, so it's not like vampires would be out of place. I hate to think they wouldn't include them for no other reason than their current popularity and Twilight.

At any rate, they should keep vampires far away from DA.  If they did it would have to be something odd relating to blood magic rather than simply importing vampires to Thedas, but I would really rather they be left out altogether.

@Lord Aesir, Vampires already exist in DA. Hopefully they will be done as well as werewolves in DAO if they return. A lot of demons will be running around in DA3, good chance some Hunger Demons will strut their sexy human counterpart stuff.
