My choice is the dragons. Not complex enough to kill. Tedious but but if you have buckets of potions it takes little strategy. It took me one try for both Flemeth and the High dragon but at least 1/2 dozen for Ser Cauthrien.
For those who played TOB, the dragon in the desert required many more attempts and different strategies even with a very high level and well equipped party. If you are going to make the superbosses dragons they aught to be trickier(not tougher but craftier somehow).
I know the BG dragons had more magic and the intention was to make DAO wyrms different from them, but something to switch it up. Maybe a one time morph into a fighter or mage or something. Or a demi lich thing where you snuff them and they resurrect as something else. Or maybe they just run away and try to heal so you have a chase. To me the end battle was just trading haymakers until the dragon dropped.
Okay two changes, I want summoned animals and monsters againImage IPB

And there should be more dragons. Now there are only three of them. I had hoped for at least a dozen. And there should be a fight against two dragons at the same time .

Actually griffins would be appropriate but the way dragon flight was shown I doubt it would be doable.

great, that will be the rallying cry from the 'expansion rumor' threads.

'does it have griffins in it?'

heh

FOUR dragons.  Just wanted to point that out, since I realized it earlier today.
Flemeth, Andraste, the Archdemon, and the dragon in the Brecilian Forest Ruins.  ;)

Orzammar, as well.

Personally, I'd give the PC a voice.  One male and one female voice and an endless supply of hot tea for the voice actors.

A real proper fight. Akin to the cinematic sequence at ostagar. was hoping somehting similar would appear but alas it didn't. be that game engine, frame rate issues, improved specs I'm not sure, but for me it would be real nice to see on the screen 500, 600, hell over a 1000 darkspawn all running towards:

YOU!

Now I would not mind if they were all one hit kills, but the sheer fun of spending up to half an hour fighting an actual 'blight' would be worth playing over and over.

As much as I'd like PCs to have voices, I disagree.  Unless they could round up different voice selections like they did for battle in DA:O, then I wouldn't want my character to have a voice.  The voices always sound a certain way in my head, and when I hear the voice they chose, it usually disagrees with me.  Take Mass Effect, for example.  The female Shepherd's voice was too deep and serious for what I had intended for my character.  I'd rather she not talk at all, and let me put in the voice in my head.  :pinched:

And this would be sick.  Especially with Fireball or Cone of Cold.  Just entire sections of darkspawn falling at your feet.  Yes pls.

I'd have to suggest not seeing a return to the cutscene silliness that pervades games like this sometimes.

- sneaking into a room only to have a cutscene trigger which has your entire group waltz into the middle of a fight... and then finding that any buffs you might have pre-cast are no longer active, just because.
- finding an illusory abandoned camp in the West Brescilian forest that automagically puts everyone to sleep (ie dead/unconscious) if you try to leave, thus scripting your main character into the only injury that he's ever received in the game to date.

That kind of nonsense I would very much like to see changed for DA2. Or any game for that matter.

I love the cutscenes it breaks up the monotony and adds to the feel thatthis is an interactive movie as well as a fun game I am all for more of these, I also want more random encounters in camp with your people getting to know them, joking around with them or ticking them off One of my favorite lines was where I threatened to poke Morrigan with a stick and she laughed at me. I want more of these especially with the love interests.

I want fleshed out specializations dangit, In baldurs gate and NWN they actually changed the way you played the game overall and added neat passives or unique twists. Arcane trickster and kensai kit ftw.

Some item variety would be nice as well, getting random items with some use would be. . . nice.

Expenses. All the time there come up pointless leaks draining away the money. Alistair's sister, she doesn't even want the money, thinks it's not much. Yet the player is almost forced to give her 15 sovereigns which I think is bleeding much. Or the donation box for the Redcliffe armies in the Camp. There is the possibility to give them 30 sovereigns. Possibility to what end? It's clear from the start that I will never see any practical use of this. So annoying.

Of course, this opens up many points about free choice and consequences.

I rather like the cutscenes as well, for the most part. It's only when those cutscenes end up spoiling all of my carefully laid plans or otherwise scripting me into doing things there's no way I'd ever end up doing simply for the sake of High Drama that I start objecting to them. That's the point at which they become far more frustrating than engaging.

Would be rather interested to witness that moment in time just after I finish buffing, preparing, and strategically placing each of my companions in the perfect positions to strike from ambush, but just before the cutscene shows us all blithely sashaying straight into the heart of a werewolf lair to have a casual chat with a woody tart that I know I'm going to end up attacking anyway.

"Ok, group, this is it. We've got twenty, maybe thirty werewolves in there who'd like nothing better than to rip out each of our throats and pick their teeth with our bones. Everyone set?"

"Yes!"

"I... Uh I guess..."

"<grunt>"

"Right then. Wynne: You're in the back. You stay behind Alistair and heal him and everyone else when necessary. Take a shot at a dog if you can, but keep yourself out of harm's way, and try not to draw the attention of too many of them at once. Al: You yell a few choice insults at them and keep as many of them busy and off balance as you can. Sten: You --"

"You waste time with more pointless chatter. We all know the plan."

"Err... right. So everyone... good luck. On three... one... two... "

...

"You know what? Screw it. Let's just go in and see if they'd like to share their feelings., shall we?"

"..."

"..."

"... are you sure you're a Grey Warden, kadan? Tactical geniuses, they say. Peerless in the arts of war, they say..."

"It'll be fine. What could go wrong?"

"I need cookies."

Can't see it happening, somehow... and yet, it keeps happening all the same.

Yes but in those two instances, are there any consequences? I've heard giving to your armies doesn't help you in the final battles but I don't know about Goldanna. I didn't end up giving her anything the first time and I get the feeling nothing changes with her if she does get money.

If you are playing a Dwarf you should be able to ride Dog into battle.

I would like to see randomly generated enemies for battles. Instead of every encounter in the entire game you always face exactly the same numbers and kinds of opponents in exactly the same place. Then you might get to see if your tactics and character builds actually work, instead of the Super Mario Brothers school of design where you win by knowing exactly what you are going to face by trial and error and prepare for it ahead of time. I think it would add some freshness to the battles.

I would like to see more places on the map with more quests with possibly some better allies in a sense of a possible keeper from the Dalish or another type of blood mage other than morrigan.

Less moments where the main character is alone, without the support of his companions.

Take the Raw Fade for instance. It's fine with me if the PC starts the dream sequence alone, but when you talk to your sleeping party members and make them realize that they are dreaming, they should join your party immediately rather than disappear and re-appear at the boss fight.

Such a change would remove a lot of frustrations from the Raw Fade. For example, it is possible for the PC to fight a regular Ogre (white name, not a lieutenant or boss), the PC still has most of his health remaining, but one grab from the Ogre and the PC dies without being able to do anything. If there were 2 or more people in the party, then the fight still continues rather than ending abruptly.

Of course, I have no issues with the PC being alone during his origin.

More places to travel to on the map and free roaming, I feel like I'm limited to the confines of a box.

What I loved about Oblivion is you could always take the long way by walking or riding a horse from one place to another, in this game you cannot do that. I like random exploring and treasure hunting to build up money in this game it seems to take forever to build up a decent amount. Also the fighting mechanics need some work.
