Tutu-style spawn = less monsters than original BGT?

I installed TUTU-style spawn on BGT hoping that I would see 6 gibbering on the first map, yet i ended up with 1 gibbering who charged at my level 1 party of four-members. It's disappointing.

I saw many posts claimng that tutu-style spawn in BGT tweak spawns 6 monsters altogether. Yet I only see a groupd made of a lone gibbering, which is even worse than BGT which I tried to avoid for being to sparse.

What should I do if I want to face as many monsters as possible in early levels? BGspawn is an alternative and seems to be the only spawn related mod out there but it is based on party level and the number remains pretty much the same. Is there any other solution?

I know if you play tutu you get 6 monsters right at the beginning. I want to replicate that.

You could use the BGTTweaks mod. That has a component allowing you to increase the difficulty of the level-dependent Tutu ambushes.

Try adding the Increase difficulty of level-dependent monster groupings component from SCS2.

TuTu puts in more individual spawns, but original BG could have them WAY bigger. Every time you did a reload in an area, it would add a spawn. In Larswood/Peldvale you could end up with 12+ black talon mercs in a single spawn point. That got ugly fast.

And the TuTu spawns are only big for the tiny gomer monsters like gibberlings and xvarts. Not really worth a whole lot of modding over.

Thank you guys.

I wanted to increase difficulty without breaking the atmosphere, that is, seeing xvarts team up with wolves and bears like in BGT. However if tutu spawns create large number of only weak monsters, it doesn't seem worth the effort.

Other difficulty increasing mods are quite effective. SCS is one, Dark Horizons is another.

The kobolds in the mines are quite tough with SCS. Lots of kobold commandoes, guards and shamans.

Dark Horizons adds powerful assassins, but also adds powerful weapons. You don't need to use them though if you find them to be overpowered.
