If you were forced to take one of these, which one would you grab?

N7 Eagle

It's not nearly as bad as the BSN seems to think with all the buffs it's gotten.

..hard toss up but "COllector" Eagle is a alternate pistol thats fairly well but I can't rely on the stability as much as the Collector rifle

Collector SMG is actually good, it's simply its clip-size I dislike. Of course this problem can be negated by the mag upgrade.

I'd go with Collector since the Eagle still isn't that much good even after the buff it got.

Combine both of them to create a doomday device

Haven't played with CSMG too much, so I'm not that familiar with it, other than the mag being annoying to use.

I'll do a comparison that fits my interests:

- Eagle X with Heavy Barrel and AP Mod does 133.3 a shot and weighs .75. Mag is 24.
- Eagle X with Extended Barrel and AP Mod does 117.1 a shot and weighs .25.

- CSMG X with HVB and EM would do 83.6 per two shots (CSMG is 800 RoF, Eagle is 400) and weighs .35. In comparison to the Eagle, mag would be effectively 36. You have to wait for recharge. Eagle's reload is pretty fast and capacity is sizeable. *

They're both decently accurate. Personally, I'd choose Eagle at this time based on experience.

*Taken into account extended mag and gold armor penalty in all values shown.

The Eagle. But only so I can slap a melee stunner on it and Falcon Punch all the things :)

Can someone explain to me what the deal is with recharging the Collector SMG? The last time I used it, the time it took to recharge seemed very inconsistent.

N7 Eagle X:
Damage per round: 107.70
Versus Armor (Gold): 57.70
Rounds per clip: 24
Sustained DPS: 506.82
Damage per Clip: 2584.80
Clip cycle: 5.10 seconds
Weight: 0.25
Accuracy: 50

Collector SMG X:
Damage per round: 46.80
Versus Armor (Gold): 20.20
Rounds per clip: 40
Sustained DPS: 312.00
Damage per Clip: 1872.00
Clip cycle: 6.00 seconds
Weight: 0.35
Accuracy: 35

Umm...N7 Eagle, hands down.
CSMG does 1/3 the damage of the Eagle vs Armor, takes almost a full second longer to reload. (and only 0.1 sec shoter if you don't empty the clip)
The Eagle is lighter, and more accurate.
Plus, with eagle you can use the AP mod AND ExB and boost the damage even higher.

Besides, I have an Eagle VI and only a CSMG I.

Learn to aim?
Sorry, I know that sounds like an asinine comment but, there's almost no recoil on that thing vs any automatic weapon. (PPR and CSR not included)

I'd go eagle. It's an underrated gun. It's better than the majority of the full auto AR category since it doesn't shoot compressed air. I prefer a conventional gun that I can reload/unload at will wihout huge downtime.

Fire from cover.

If you're not in cover, fire from the hip.

You won't notice the recoil, and it has pinpoint accuracy when shooting from cover.

even if the eagle has better dps, it keeps you from equipping the scorpion, talon, paladin, carnifex, or acolyte...

based on that and weight id still take the csmg, most likely with one of those five as a sidearm.
those numbers though.... i hope the csmg gets some love.

Don't care what the numbers say, Collector SMG X is a beast with AP III (or higher), capacity, and barrel. Also has next to no recoil and is far more accurate than the Eagle IMO, an easy 20 headshot game if you can aim.

yeh... i know the drill for the eagle... fire from cover and hip fire.

but id rather be able to ADS and get consistant headshots.

different strokes i guess.

Both Dual wield!

But, I think I'll go with the Eagle if I had to choose.

I got one at IV, and it's nice.

I'd say the Eagle as for whatever reason I actually like the thing. Then again I don't have the collector SMG to compare it to yet.

Few other things about the eagle: You can get piercing, and damage, and not have to pick, unlike SMGs.

It's still pretty light even with a heavy pistol barrel adding that 40% extra damage instead of 25%.

Only real flaw is the opportunity cost of not having an acolyte, or whatever other flavor heavy pistol floats your boat.
