.. I'll try my luck and see if anyone else is having the same issue, and maybe, get a fix. :(

I've been having this problem for almost 3 days now. For some reason, when I click on the Origin icon on my PC (Windows 7 x64 sp1), nothing happens. I see the Origin icon on the system tray, but clicking on it does nothing. I then right click and see I only have two options: either Open or Exit. Clicking on Exit then takes me to a pop-up screen from Origin telling me that Origin can't connect, or that I am offline. My internet connection works fine with Steam and other sites load with no problems.

So I tried uninstalling Origin and reinstalling it by going to www.origin.com/download.

To my disappointment, that site doesn't load at all; it just takes me to a blank page. I then try going to help.ea.com, and while I get in to the site, it barely loads, there's a lot missing graphics, and nothing happens when clicking on the Log In link so that I can submit a help ticket. I've also noticed that even Bioware social is showing problems, such as most of the website graphics/icons are not loading, etc.
Here's what I've done so far:
- Cleared browser cache/cookies, etc. (same result)
- Downloaded Origin from a third party site (filehippo.com) and installed it (same result)
- Restarted my computer (duh) (same result)- Removed the router from setup, and hooked up straight to the modem (same result)
- Did a virus scan, checked firewall settings (nothing blocked), checked
the computer's HOSTS file (no EA entries, no other entries at all)- Temporarily disabled virus scan (i use avira) (same result)
- Tried accessing the origin download site and ea help site through a laptop and an ipod touch using the wireless router (same result, not getting through)
- Called my ISP and they said that there really is nothing wrong on their end, or with my internet signal, though they
said they're escalating my concern to a tier 2 department (still waiting on response from them).

I want my ME3 multiplayer back. :(

your in the uk and bt is your isp ?

since there the only company i know of that uses tier 2 csr's (there internet forum is sorta better at getting results than there helpdesk is due to me not speaking there laungauge and them not understanding anythign not on there script cards)

well i was thinking that there are a few things you can try, one of which is to check firewall settings in the router i suspect if you are useing bt your also useing the home hub in which case you will need ot check that the dmz/portforwarding stuff isnt assigned ot another game (hh1/2 both have a problem that only one thing can use the port) theres features in the advanced menu that allow you to select games from a dropdown list but first you have ot delete all the existing stuff (totally stupid system)

thers also things in the network settings on both pc and router that can be changed to enable the game and origin to connect to the rest of the world, also if your firewall program isnt in charge of the settings for the built in windows one you would need ot manually enter the rules in that as well (on of the primary reasons i use mcrapee since migrating to win7)

hopefully thees a few thigns on one of hte other threads that will help explain what i'm talking about if your unaware

Sorry, i'm not from the UK. Its somewhere in SE Asia. :)

I did a lot of digging, and i found something interesting. I asked a neighbor if I could use his computer and internet connection (we have the same ISP, and since we are behind an NAT, we also shared the same public IP), and I find out that he has the same problem (can't access Origin download site, BSN not loading correctly, etc), though he never notices as he doesn't play ME3. This convinced me that it is not a problem with my router or computer settings.

Here's what I found: EA seems to use Amazon AWS, Akamai, and Limelight Networks as their CDN (content distribution network). I have no problems accessing other sites EXCEPT sites that use Limelight Networks to host part or all of their content. The BSN, EA Help and Forum sites all seem to use Limelight to some extent, and I always have problems with these sites being slow, unresponsive, or just incomplete. I'm thinking that its either my ISP blocking limelight or if its the other way around.

I already told my ISP about this. I have no idea if they'll be able to fix it in time before I go nuts. and no response yet from EA. This sucks.

yeah ea used to be a decent producer of games back in the days when they hosted thee own servre farms but now that its all contracted out there servers are utter garbage

hell i found less problems useing every other games producer than EA, and the compound the issue by using orign which for some totally random and unknown reason requires to check connections to all the games it can be used for in order to work, thus compounding the issues

oh and limelight used ot be purely for peer 2 peer stuff so theres a more than decent chance that the problem is in isp's throtteling access ot limelight networks, akami and amazon stuff shoudlnt be under the same pressure though.

to be totally honest it seems more and more like EA is going down the pan scrimping on servers and backend stuff in order to say they brought something to market.

Uhh, hate this. I've been able to connect only twice this weekend. I never get disconnected from the server once i'm on MP, but the Origin store doesn't load at all. When I log out of Origin, getting back on is near to impossible. The Origin icon is left in the system tray, but right-clicking it only gives me two options, Open Origin or Exit. Clicking on exit gives me an Origin error message (Not connected to the internet, blah blah, etc.). When I click on that same error message, Origin crashes.

And like Shepard from the Lazarus project, I'm back online. I'm so happy. Thank you, to whoever fixed whatever to get me back online.

And no thanks to EA. Support ticket filed Oct. 20, never ever got a response until the problem fixed itself. Or maybe my ISP did the fixing. Regardless, I'd understand if it was an EA problem, that they messed up the server, or something. But no, no response, no communication, nothing. Disappointed.

nooo dont think that

it "fixed itself" because origin took a major fall over and was forced into a manual reboot when amazon took down the cloud for a migration service addition.

as a side note it will probably happen again and magically "fix itself" again in the run up to the next cloud maintenance schedule (they do it every few months)

its caused by the cloud servers being taken down for maint individually and not all info's migrating fully durign the process, something ea should know and act to prevent but there completly totally and utterly useless when it comes ot running a service, and responsible company takes there entire system offline and reboots it all in one go because of migration induced errors instead of trying ot provide a 24/7 service useing it as a bonus feature......
