Hello I've got the walkable ship placeable floating nicely on the sea all baked up and ready to have its decks covered in blood in a big fight. Downstairs at one end is the crew deck which you get to via the door and at the other end the officers quarters which you can't get too because I can't put in an area transition !!!

Where I want it is just behind the steering wheel but it only seems to want to stay under the ship. The whole area is walkable, I can put transitions on the piece of deck lower down ( the middle ) no problem, I lowered the ship to match up with the transition but when I moved the terrain down under the ship the transitiion followed, I thought even though it was under the ship it would show up in game but it doesnt and finally it's really annoying me !

Any ideas how to deal with this ?

Put the transition on the door via a convo perhaps?

Or just click and jump with a label on the door saying the captains cabin?

Or create a mat on the floor in front of the door where the transition would be labelled "Captain Blackheart, Scourge of the five seas, Slayer of the great Babostian Beast , Pease wipe your feet"

My daughter is now wondering why her mad daddy is laughing at a screen of text but I love the mat idea, absolutely hilarious and that's what it'll be.. Thank you.

Done it and the legend of "PJ" Blackheart sacker of villages, sinker of ships, slayer of sea monsters and pirate captain with issues regarding clean footwear now lives on in my module !

Transition deleted, floor mat installed, conversation written, tested by Brigid Chandler, happy Tsongo ! Thank you.

Ha!

Immortalised in a mat.

I would have to be one of those bald pirates though ... perhaps a knotted hanky.

Dont you mean Ha Harr !

Sorry to say there are no knotted hankies available ( eye patch, beard and a cockatoo are still possible ) and you're going to die and so's your ship but hopefully the mat will be washed up on some nice beach.

You've already got a solution, but for reference the trigger won't be at the level of the ship, but it doesn't actually matter, triggers extend infinitely up in the air. In something I was working on, I lowered the placeable I wanted to walk on down to ground level, drew my trigger, and then raised the placeable back up. No problem.

I did that for the walkmesh cutters ( lowering etc ), but for some reason the upper bit of the deck (near the wheel ) didn't want to show my transition trigger in game it just stayed in the sea. I prefer my "welcome" mat anyway so I'm quite pleased it didn't work now.

I also use placeable doors for ship deck transitions.  Hellfire also has a nifty ship hatches in his ship interior tileset.  there are also a couple placeable doors in the MotB placeables.

I don't think it would have been too captain like to climb down a hatch and I had thought about putting a plate on the floor with a shrunken environmental crate over it but I'm going to remember placeable doors in the future I didn't know there were any.. Thank you.
