I heard something about BW buffing Drells?

+1, The drell guard has a very weird skillset, it doesn't help that he has pull <_<


Drellguard is a bit of a beast if you skip pull alltogether and use a powerful shotgun like the raider/piranha/reegar.  High mobility, fast biotic charge, decent passive weapon damage + 25% from bio charge and cluster nade spam makes for a high damage dealing character if you play him right.

Slap on incendiary ammo and the shotgun heavy barrel for armor destruction and fire explosions.

He's too weak on platinum though as is the adept really, they are so squishy there that while they are possible to play for sure it just gets annoying.


There was a lot of discussion in the "Balance all the things" group about the Drellguard. Most users agreed that he lacked identity. He can be good doing a thing or two, but there is always other character that excels at the same task. He can be good in nuking respaw like a Drell Adept, but never quite as good. He can take some damage like other vanguards, but not nearly as good... 

The overall conclusion in the group, was to patch the Drellguard kit. Make his powers unique to his kits, like the Kroguard's Charge, and then buff two, maybe all three of his powers. More base damage for Cluster(or maybe an extra shrapnel), Biotic Charge Rank 6 Bonus Power up to 50% chance...

There was a recent thread a few days before the latest patch was released in which one of the Dev's stated that the Drell's survivability will be improved. Shortly after the Patch was released, upon questioning why there were no Drell changes we got another comment stating that they would come via one of the weekly Balance changes as post-patch they can now alter more values than before.

That was weeks ago. We've since been patiently wainting on our promised Drell survivability improvements.

They'll probably buff the Drell when they release the Drell Infiltrator so it will almost definitely have something to do with Fitness. woo!

Pull doesn't need replacement, just a buff. I would love to see drell movement speed upped as well; Thane sure moved fast for a dying guy, so healthy drell should be at least almost as fast.

Shield recharge delay increased to 25% for the fitness buff, Reave's DR duration increased for the Adept.

The Vanguard could get bonus DR for a couple of seconds after using Charge similar to the rank 5 evolutions.

I will try to think of more upgrades for the Drell.
