Morrigan just figured Alistairs sperm would need an extra day or two. At least it wasn't Cailan, then she would have needed and extra few weeks- they would have spent most of the time looking in the mirror fixing their acrosomal caps and flexing their tails.

THAT'S what Mo needs a mirror for! Good to know...

Makes sense. How about this for a plothole:

If you don't take Morrigan with you to kill the archdemon.... how does the Old God's essence pass into her?

Think of the fetus as a soul-magnet :P

Actually, what upsets me more than that little hole is the black blood one...

The black blood thing was disappointing. That should have stayed. :(

Reading 'The Calling' made it an even more glaring omission.

Although, I still don't buy the fetus soul magnet theory ;)

What I actually always wanted to know was: What happens to the surviving Warden? I mean, he/she was right in the middle of an enormous magical explosion. What side-effects did that have? How long was there between the killing blow and the celebrations?

Yeah lots of crazy things that made no sense or didn't add up with that ritual.

How is that a plot hole? She says the Archdemon's essence will seek out the newly-formed child. Regardless of whether or not you like that idea, it's something that is indeed stated explicitly so it's not a plot hole... unless you mean something else when you say "plot hole".

As for the "night before" line -- no, obviously we're not going to change it. It seems like hardly anyone even noticed, so it's not really worth the aggravation of altering now. Insofar on the list of irritating plot alterations caused by last-minute content cuts I'd rank that one pretty low overall. Image IPB

Wait, so I DONT have to take Morrigan in my party with me to kill the archdemon? That will save me a headache the next time.

Maybe the Darkspawn tainted spermies had to gather at the bottom then blight the egg at the right time?

Like the rest of the Blight, they were busy with Lothering up until the plot told them to head for the egg.

Ooh now that makes me wonder what the other 'irritating plot alterations caused by last-minute content cuts' there are that are high on the list.

Wonder if the rumoured expansion with extra origin is one of them

I'm not going to argue against someone who actually was involved in the making of the game, but as far as I recall she never says it needs to happen the night before, just that "it must be tonight" or something. I interpreted this as "tonight is my ovulation so the sex must be tonight".

What IS a little sloppy however, is that someone at Redcliffe talks about the final battle happening "tomorrow", and as far as I recall it takes more than one day to travel from there to Denerim.

Honestly? Until rather late in development, Morrigan approached you in your tent when the army camped the night before reaching Denerim. The extra area was eventually cut and the event moved to Redcliffe Castle. I don't remember if this was done before VO was recorded or not, but it seems nobody really noticed the single line when she says "the night before" afterwards.

What makes this excuse somewhat more amusing is that they put the release date for the PC version back some 8or so months to time the release date with the console versions and still did'nt notice this.

Again, and maybe because I'm an FPS/TPS hardnose, I fail to see the real importance of this small oversight. It obviously has no impact whatsoever on the story, present or future, and there is obviously no attempt to deceive, if Mr. Gaider is to be believed (and there is certainly no reason not to).
After years of development, I think we can charitably give Bioware a pass on such an insignificant thing, especially after bringing a unique and challenging gaming experience to market with roughly 60 hours of quality entertainment. Complexity alone dictates tolerance, especially of minor oversights that are declared not plot significant.
Getting kicked in the balls by yonder swamp witch after a (seemingly) futile attempt to "change" her, and then being gelded by said witch in an unrealistic confronation with minimal choices (where you had such an abundance of choice it in the rest of the game) at the ritual, seems a more important topic, than the ellapsed time between Warden/Witch sex and dead archdemon.
But, hey, I am new to this sort of gaming...it might very well be me.

Peace.Image IPB

Cut Bioware some slack, are you really losing any sleep over this? Thats one tiny detail, big deal. They're not perfect, and neither are you. Theres no such thing as a completely perfect, flawless game. Theres always something, big or small, that could have been fixed. Give it a rest. I didn't really pay much attention until someone brought up this thread.

I did notice that, but you go right into the battle prep, so I sort of ignored it... But I do like the idea of a glyph of warding in Morrigan's fallopian tubes. It made me LOL.

Hmmm... No need for contraception...
