You aren't being forced to do anything. I've seen a group of players (2 FQI, 1FQE, 1MQI) consistently use Sabotage to make Atlases and Turrets obliterate their allies, it's just that they were competent enough not to shoot the hacked synthetics. They were also competent enough to use it on organics because they knew it was effective. They also specced Max power damage and most used Operative Packages or Engineering Kits because again, they were competent.

Because Backfire works on all factions, where hack works on Geth and some Cerberus (Atlases, Turrets.) It's versatility and bonuses to Tech Damage make it a far superior choice.

Pull + Reave = Biotic Explosion. Sure you could have headshotted them, but you wouldn't get AOE damage as well as spreading the love with Reave over a not unsubstantial radius. Plus the chargeless Acolyte is a beast.

I completely agree. The Salarian Engineer was baller when it actually distracted enemies. Decoy is one of the most useless powers in the game now since it's so often ignored, and the Salarian Engineer, because all it has going for it is Decoy, is also useless.

Sabotage also constantly disappoints me, even when playing against the Geth and specced for power damage (as you should be when running the Quarian Infiltrator; her grenades are especially powerful). It's telling that I often get kicked from Platinum when I show up with a Quarian Female Infiltrator.

Well... tell Bioware to give you more hackable units. That's ultimately where it becomes inferior... there isn't enough stuff to hack. Not sure I want to see Reapers with robots though.

Another option is to... PLAY MOAR PLATINUM! There's always Geth, Atlases and Cerberus Turrets there.

In all the time it took you to do all that crap... you could've just shot the mook in the head once or twice and be done with it. That's why Pull sucks... simply shooting a Carnifex at the same target outclasses it.


1v1 yeah, but in a group of 2+ a carnifex doesn't hold a candle to that combo

That just sounds like too much work for a dead shielded mook... seriously. So many other things can kill the same mook in 1/3 or 1/2 of the time spent to shoot and cast twice...

Yes the new Acolyte is amazing... you probably could've just shot that 2-3 times and killed it just the same... then reaved other targets that are a little tougher to kill.

Wait, when did Reapers suddenly not become Synthetics?  Why does Hack not work on them?

Oh, I guess they're "too advanced" for puny organic hackage.

that is why justicar with acolyte for me is the strongest adept in the game

Pull need somekind of bonus over armor/shield/barrier enemies. Biotic Explosion, a high stagger rate or even bit more damage are good ideas.

Pull and lash probably. Those are the only two offensive powers left that only affect certain targets IIRC. Despite that, they are still damn useful if used well.

.... and how is that worth 21 skill points? Also... you've got to really spam it at the Phantoms b/c they Hand of Denial the first 2-3 Pulls....

After Acolyte, Pull is better than Lash easily.

Worst power? Humm... let me think...
Carnage for sure. I can't understand that longer cooldown for almost nothing.

Biotic slash and electric slash, anyone who specs my than 3 points in it is really ****ing annoying, it's not even the most efficient way to play the kits as well :/

Use conc. shot with AoE evo, freeze evo and a cryo falcon and you got a AoE stunlocking utility class that was made to hard counter the collectors. You pull  a 195% recharge rate with falcon X.

Just one: Stasis. That power is so completely useless, except for those having trouble lining up headshots. It just doesn't synergize with other biotic powers on the character that casts it, because the target will sink to the ground and be immune to other powers before you can follow it up with a throw, warp or charge. It's basically a stagger like energy drain, but without replennishing your shield and without the damage component, but with a longer cooldown. Asari Mantiguards are the ones getting some use of it. But it's nearly useless to Asari Adepts.

Fair enough...I'd rather go incendiary ammo and a grenade, nade + fire explosion = kill (or majorly damage) an entire spawn.
But your way would work well too...:P

Carnifex: that Marauder still shoots you when you are doing the headshots.

Acolyte -> Pull: stagger by Acolyte, incapacitate the foe with Pull = noone shooting at you while you do it. Reave is optional, really.

for the 2 worst powers I nominate Sentry Turret and Carnage.
