Is it just me or the game has gotten freakishly slow?

So after a 2 month break before Retaliation I started playing again and damn has this game become extremely slow... Just getting into the multiplayer and going through the loading screens, checking dlc and ea connection has become an incredible drag. Not to mention that thanks to the not so great match making you have to endure even more loading screens while trying to find a good lobby or join up with your friends. And i can say that im definately not the only one noticing this.

Its not like im really complaining, I still play the game and enjoy the hell of it, but the game has become really slow. Even games like crysis load times faster.

Yeah those load screens are pretty annoying. Hey BioWare, do you think you could make a patch to make the game load faster?

It's not just you. I can go take a leak and make some coffee between the "press a key to continue" title screen and the main menu showing up and actually being accessible. I think the game asks the bioware servers for DLC authentication (USE CACHING, BIOWARE) and for the status of the "galaxy at war" map (NOT IMPORTANT) every time you enter the main menu AND every time you enter the multiplayer menu. Also it looks up new DLC offers (NOT IMPORTANT) and it also shows queries a status update for your friends (NOT IMPORTANT).  It's a disgrace. This stuff should be done asynchronously or not at all, I don't need a super accurate display of the galaxy of war, I'm fine if that is only updated once a day or when I click "refresh". And the DLC checking takes WAY too long, too.

It's not just that, the craftsmanship is horrible for the networking code all around. You can't even Alt+Tab out of ME3 or use Shift-F1 to launch and use a web browser while the game stalls. If you look in task manager, you see that both the game and origin.exe take up 100% CPU during the stalls. EA should be ashamed of themselves for this.

Hey, EA, if you need someone to explain to you how asynchronous network programming is done, there's people you can hire. I'm available for consulting. It's not that hard.

The "connecting to EA servers" keeps getting worse

Yeah, navigating the menu's has become a real chore. It takes ages just to launch and access the game because the game constantly needs to connect to their ****ty network. Their netcode is a joke as is the support for this game. As Fnord already said, you can't even alt tab out of the game when it stalls. Don't even get me started on the multiplayer lobby and item store. That piece of **** store is still losing credits and BioWare points to this day but EA has yet to do a damn thing to address any of these issues.

It's definitely ridiculous. When the game first launched, I remember it taking a few seconds to get the main menu and MP menu to respond after launching, but after starting to play again after seeing the addition of Vorcha, Geth, Volus, and the new maps, I gave it another shot, and good lord, it takes /forever/ to get the main menu to actually let me use it, and even longer to get into the MP menu, much less actually play a match.

Yeah it wasn't much of an issue intially but it's become next to unplayabe over these past few months. I took break myself and returned after the Earth DLC. I couldn't believe in what the state the game was. How the hell do you ignore all these issues for so long? I couldn't give a rats ass if the game actually sucked but it's one of my favorite co-op experiences ever. It just pisses me off when you have to deal with unprofessional and dismissive companies like this. They have yet to even acknowledge these issues let alone attempt to fix them.

What i would like to know is what the **** do they need all these moderators and "community managers" for if they are not doing their ****ing job and relaying this information to the developers?
