Anything Allers said, because of her bad delivery that can rival ME 1 & 2 Male Shep's.

Most of Liara's lines on Thessia.

Not a line exactly, but Jack's little freakout in ME2 when she's that the Normandy is a Cerberus ship makes me shake my head very hard.

Which brings me to her students. What age were they aiming for? Almost every line from Rodriguez and the other guy definitely made me cringe.

Can't think of anything else right now.

The average gamer is in their mid 30s now. The average game company manager still thinks that teens are the largest consumer of these games. Hence look at the ages of the characters: Liara is barely an adult, Tali is barely legal age, Samantha is about 26, Vega is 25.

Bottom line: they need to start making the age of the LIs a bit older. I felt like I was robbing the cradle.

Interesting post. But Kaidan and Miranda are admittedly older than the other LIs. Thane too.

You don't write dialogue that says the exact same thing with a name replaced. That's assembly line writing, and it's cheap.

Given an appropriate context...

Who the hell cares?

Assume the Shepard you're playing has no connection to Earth, and Kaidan died on Virmire. Also assume that your Shepard dislikes Kaidan. Assume your Shepard was good friends with Wrex, but Wrex died on Virmire. Wouldn't that dialogue choice seem a bit off to you?

So what do you suggest? Put a dozen different options on the conversation wheel so you can pick the character "your Shepard" misses most?

                                                                                                          /
                                                                                                      O     -   Dead masses

To be honest, I wasn't bothered by Ash/Kaidan's dialogue in ME2. Hell, if someone I knew died, only to reappear two years later working for terrorists, I'd wonder what the hell was going on too.

Shepard's responses to said dialogue however, are extremely derpy.

It's not a fast food joint. You can't program conversations like ordering a burger. There's a finite amount of possibilities.

Besides, Shepard is not going to have "no connection to Earth."

My Shepard is a spacer. What connection to Earth could he possibly have? The number of potential dialogue choices are only as finite as the number of squadmates who could possibly be dead at that point.

You aren't even attempting to think of counterarguments, you're just saying no.

If his or her species is being exterminated, Shepard is going to care.

And how does this tie in with Earth? Humanity has colonies all over the galaxy. What makes Earth so special?

Not a quote per se but something that is brought up

In Liara's room you occasionally hear bits of news from the galaxy, one of these is about a colony that obliterated itself with nukes rather then be killed by the reapers. Why the f*ck did they not use them against the reapers???? They are obviously not worried about civilian casualties from the blast.

Because they wouldn't work and they would end up in the exact same situation, but with no nukes?

. Why not?  I don't see even reapers surviving atomic rearrangement.

You know, this is such a terrible line I've grown to like it. A lot.

Then again, this : www.youtube.com/watch might have something to do with it.

I've had enough of this. If you want to argue that a hero caring about his homeworld being destroyed and his species being exterminated is unacceptable, you can do it with someone else.

Because the nukes almost certainly wouldn't even hit. The Reapers would just shoot them down.

I have no problem with Shepard getting upset that his homeworld being destroyed.

It's only when it's forced onto those Shepards who aren't from Earth.

. Detonate then when the reapers start harvesting, not when the just appear, take them down with you

In all fairness, a dreadnought class Reaper's barriers can take sustained fire from dreadnought-scale weaponry, which is fission-type nuke energy being directed against it several times a minute. Destroyers might be damaged/destroyed, but true Reapers would likely shrug it off. Plus such weapons have to be delivered somehow.

I still heavily believe that the time Shepard was captured and grounded after ME2 was the first time my Shepard has ever been on Earth (and by gameplay, it was). I felt no connection to it. Felt a lot more for Mindoir.

. Codex entry "Miracle at Palaven". Bring the nukes into the reaper, past the shields, press big red button
