In all fairness, a dreadnought class Reaper's barriers can take sustained fire from dreadnought-scale weaponry, which is fission-type nuke energy being directed against it several times a minute. Destroyers might be damaged/destroyed, but true Reapers would likely shrug it off. Plus such weapons have to be delivered somehow.

Where did you read that dreadnaught guns release energy from a fission reaction? From the codexon mass accelerator cannons it would appear that their guns are simply bigger, harder hitting rail guns (at their basic level, I mean, I know some of the principles are different).

Actually, now that I think of it, nuclear weapons are classified as WMDs, and are thus banned by the Citadel Conventions. I don't think a dreadnaught would have any weapons that operate in a similar fashion to a nuke. Of course, the current circumstances would probably overried the Citadel Conventions, but given how recent the invasion is, I don't think nuclear armaments would be standard on most dreadnaughts.

. Lets be honest here, do you really think WMDs no longer exist.  The Batarians probably still have them, and I really doubt humanity would get rid of them, they are basically standard issue to Krogan forces.  They might not be standard equipment, but they have to stil be around

Energy equivalent to a fission-type nuclear device, not an actual nuke per se. It's in the codex, and also referenced in dialogue in ME2. And a dreadnought fires several of these rounds per minute.

Edit: Found the codex entry. Here ya go:

Dreadnoughts are kilometer-long capital ships mounting heavy, long-range firepower. They are only deployed for the most vital missions. A dreadnought's power lies in the length of its main gun.
Dreadnoughts range from 800 meters to one kilometer long, with a main gun of commensurate length. An 800-meter mass accelerator is capable of accelerating one twenty-kilogram slug to a velocity of 4025 km/s (1.3%
the speed of light) every two seconds. Each slug has the kinetic energy of about 38 kilotons of TNT, about two and a half times the energy released by the fission weapon that destroyed Hiroshima.

shep; "really?" *awkward silence*

I never said that they don't exist, they're just banned from conventional warfare. I even went on point to mention that WMDs are probably used very frequently now that the Reapers have invaded.

. My point was that them not being standard issue would probably change, very quickly

Shepard after being ressurected from the dead in me2; "this pistol doesn't have a thermal clip", what how do you even know what they are? you've been dead for like... i don't.... whatever just give me your damn space bullets. /bitter

Shepard is familiar with the cooling technology used in firearms; she's gone through Basic Infantry. She knows the different parts of a firearm. Thermal clips were part of the original self-cooling system, they just weren't made to be easily ejected and replaced. So Shepard spotting that a vital component of her firearm is *missing* is not unusual or unsurprising.

i dunno about thermal clips being part of the me1 gun's design, but if they were, they were different to the ones in two and weren't made to function as space ammo, being ejected and replaced constantly in the heat of battle(see what i did there?) shep's reaction in this case shoul be 'this gun's broken, best find a working one" /sorry still bitter and won't let this go.

"We're getting reports that someone made it onto the Citadel"

I'm sorry reports from who? No one is near Shepard, he is in no condition to inform Hackett, all of Hammer is either dead or retreating

Shepard: Any news from Earth?

Udina: There is constant news... all of it bad. The Reapers are destroying satellites and the old nuclear missile silos... along with everything else that could help.

Liara: Thank you, Glyph. That'll be all.

Shepard: "I'm going to call fire down from the entire Quarian fleet!"
Me: Uh, dude. Remember Gunnery Sergeant Badass from the last game? We need some space here.
Shepard: "They see me rollin', they hatin', calling down orbital fire right over there."
Me: ...idiot.

. Nukes do not just exist on Earth.  The Krogan have been using them(rather liberally) for millennia.

No way. It's a classic Monty Python reference.

Leng's "No, it's fun" line is the worst in any of the three games for me. Mater of fact nothing he says is any good.

Hmmm, another cringe-worthy line...
Kid: "You can't help me."
Shepard then proceeds to not do anything anyway.
