When you talk to Anderson on the Citadel for the first time in ME2, he says that Vigil stopped working and there was no way to verify the information it gave...even if you took the VS with you! Did the VS have an anurism that blacked the information out of their memory?
Better yet, no one there thought to create an audio recording of Vigil, not even Prothean fangirl Liara, or audio salvager Tali. Since audio recordings are apparently indispuatable evidence.

Not a quote per se but something that is brought up
In Liara's room you occasionally hear bits of news from the galaxy, one of these is about a colony that obliterated itself with nukes rather then be killed by the reapers. Why the f*ck did they not use them against the reapers???? They are obviously not worried about civilian casualties from the blast.
lol..yeah..I thought of that too when I heard that news flash...
I wondered...uh...what if we just let the reapers come closer...maybe make a trojan horse of some kind...then boom?...I mean...if we arent worried about collateral damage and freindly fire...go for broke!

now now, if people did things that made sense in me we wouldn't have the comedy gold that is mass effect three's story. it reminds me of mitt romney. you wonder how he ever came to exist, how anyone can take him seriously, yet he's too damn funny to not have a certain appreciation for.MB957 wrote...

Also this thread will be filled with Catalyst lines soon enough, it's really just the fate of these threads.

If it's trying to draw a comparison between itself and a mindless tool, fire is probably the wrong item to compare to.

ouch burn, much like fire, except a fire you set on me intentionally, with purpose, and to acheive a goal, much like the catalyst did with the reapers, so they were used as a tool of war. which means we WERE at war with the reapers! which is exactly what the catalyst was trying to say we weren't with that line.dreman9999 wrote...

Fire isn't an autonomous creation that is fully capable of stopping at any time. Fire is also NOT our most basic tool. Not by a long shot. How in the entire f**k is fire the "base of all our tech"?
All it saying it has no will of it's own and no control of it's nature.
It could have compared itself to a gun or bomb and the analogy would be accurate. It could have compared itself to the T-1000 and that would have been okay. What we have now is just retarded.

2. Fire has no say in what it burns, the user does. The reapers also have no say who they reap. They are forced to reap and harvest. Remeber, they are made form the bodies and minds of oganics and synthetics. They are indoctrinated slaves of the catalyst.
3. The catalyst also has no say in what it does as well. It's just doing what the Leviathens programmed it to do.
If a race of aliens when to war with earth and attacked us with robots, are we at war with the robots or the aliens?
The robots have no say. That'sthe same concept with the reapers and the catalyst, they have no say to what they do.
They are out of control machines stuck in loop of faulty programing.
