As we all know the Templars have left the chantry, and now roam the country side killing my mages, just for the lol's.

Jokes aside, I would not mind having Templars go after my Inquisinator, if she was a mage, you know have three to six Templars ambushin you outside the city or somthing.

It would be nice if this time around,we could have someone I.d. us as a mage if we pick that class, it annoyed me alot that iin DA2 we could wonder around inside the mage tower without a Templar mistaking us for one of the students.

I mean Hawke could be standing in the courtyard with say 30 Templars waving her/his staff and  going whoo im a mage hello, and the Templars would just stand there and think Hawke was drunk or somthing.

So What dose everyone else think?

I do like the idea of the environment responding to your actions. It always bothered me that I'd use magic right in front of a templar and he'd simply thank me for ridding him of those pesky abominations. Especially when all of Kirkwall was kinda on mage crackdown.

it did bother me how there were so many times in DA2 with my mage Hawke I would try to tell the Templars that I'm a mage by doing everything possible.

Even when Cullen got attacked by Wilmond or whatever his name was. I fought aoff those demons using magic and Cullen didn't even notice I was using magic.

Yeah. Every Templar in Kirkwall was stupid. Only Meredith called us out during the Qunari Invasion

I think it was mentioned (somewhere in the ether) that we might only have one specialization but people would react to it much more strongly than even Origins (and definitely more than DA2).

Ha, the only time I was recognized as a spirit healer was when Merrill wants to save Pol, and Anders wasn't with me. And it was kind of funny when you have three apostates (one a blood mage) and the Captain of the Guard killing templars out in the street and no one said ANYTHING! They said they wanted to address mage Hawke with some thing about the Fade, but it was too complicated....

".... a specialization would have a more profound impact, both on the story as well as your character, so you'll likely be limited to just one."

Got it from here: http://dragonage.wik...s_fan_questions

Completely agree with this, and am especially hopeful of David Gaider's comment re: specialisations.

Was a bit...daft really that in DAII, I would wave my staff around in front of Templars and nothing was triggered due to me being a prat on purpose. Would love to see some reactions to me being a mage in DAIII :)

As long as a Templar identifies you as a mage because you've done some magic in front of him, i'm cool with the recognition thing. If a Templar can simply i.d. a mage by looking at them cuz they now have "magie sight" or something i'm gonna be extremely pissed and might even pass on the game.

Crazed Templar, LF Mage. Enjoys long walks on the beach and lyrium sniffing.

I agree with you JSlither, unfortunately we're less likely to get any recognition simply because this mechanic would be limited to a single class. I mean unless rogues get singled out for I dunno theivery or somthing, and people will randomly challenge warriors. Of course extending this mechanic to companions could work around the class gap.

Heh that made me grin.

But yes, I think they really lost alot of the immersive feel of the game when you could throw blood magic or whatever around, and Templars didn't bat an eye.  Though one could argue that since your Hawke was the Champion, the Viscount granted you a pardon and told Meredith not to bother you.  I mean she even said she tolerated you as a mage.

Though it gets me thinking, if your character in DA3 is an inquisitor, which would suggest part of the chantry ... then why would Templars attack you?  Aren't they the "arm" of the Chantry?

the Templars have left the chantry, because they think the mother or grand mambo jumbo or another were to soft on mages so they went rouge
