She ducked. So the explosion wasn't fatal.
I actually thought she did. She falls back after the last shot. Not sure if that's before or after the explosion.
Definitely on the Citadel.

because as we all know anyone who thinks they can control reapers is a fool! except space jesus when the leader of the machine devils tells him he totally can and it's totally differnt than if TIM had tried (shifty eyes)

That initial explosion didn't cause all that rubble. It was after the Crucible fired all its energy to the Charon relay.

personally i come here for luls, the ending to this game is so ridiculous it deserves all the derision and mockery it gets. as to whether it'll make a difference? meh, i hope so, but i'm a realist so it probably won't, but i can't fault anyone for trying.Brovikk Rasputin wrote...

If enough people express a desire to see it they may change their minds. There's nothing wrong with saying we want to see what happens to a character we all grew to love over five years rather than be forced to headcanon it. Plus they supposedly read these forums for suggestions.
The internet sh*t for three months straight after the game came out, and there are still a lot of people here who do nothing but tell Bioware how they should have made the endings.
They aren't changing it. They know every popular suggestion you've seen on here, and they've rejected it in perference to writing what Drew himself said was planned.

They already did. Exactly with the breathe scene. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knows this scene is "Shep survived!" and that this was Bioware's intention, leaving up the question what exactly he will do after that up to everyone's preffered headcanon (retirement with LI or maybe further service with the Alliance, or maybe becoming a pron star etc). Do we seriously need to go, again, though file names, script notes from leaked beta and how this scene is constructed along with "LI doesn't put Shep's nameplate on the Memorial Wall" scene to know what the intention was?
