The only one "odd" to see is the Warden. Other then that, seeing Hawke again would be great!

I can't wait for the crapstorm of those with female dwarf wardens.

Or elves.

I am just a tad bit worried about how my Warden would look like.I am also a little concerned since my warden is an elf. I am expecting big ass eyes on my Warden. (Hey if she is comes out like Merrill I will be okay. Not all the elves in DA2 looked bad) Though I am thrilled to see my smexy Casa Nova rogue Hawke again.

But hey finally we get to see female dwarves again, right? They were kind of gone in DA2.

Yeah, like so many other things.

In one quest, they had a dwarf have an elven wife as mother to his dwarven sons.

Nah, she was a maid, or something.....Kept referring to them as "your boys" and he was all like "If you want to keep your job, you'll shut your mouth." But I found it hard to believe that there were no dwarven women in all of Kirkwall.

If they keep the face hidden, I'll live with that. I do not want a "default face." My warrior Hawke was black, that would be a huge slap in the face (and that doesn't even get into those who might use custom stuff for Character Creators)

From Allan in the twitter thread on more open levels:
"We're definitely experimenting with what it means to have a more open level.  Finding some interesting things such as "give people a road, and they tend to follow it" and stuff like that.  Taking that and iterating on the level.  How can we encourage someone to maybe not follow the road (or at least make it clear they don't have to follow it).  Sometimes the road makes thematic sense, maybe we could do smaller roads but that doesn't always work.  At the same time we also don't want to take away from those that enjoy going off the beaten path.  If we effectively put arrows on the ground that say "there's something cool over there" they won't enjoy it as much."

Some other bits of info that wasn't in the OP:
- Been in pre-production longer than nearly any other Bioware game.
- Character Customization will be deeper than Origins.
- Potentially take over a castle.
- Due out in late Fall 2013.

I don't want to see/read about the Warden/Hawke again. Please, let them go, Bioware. Let us, the player, make up their future.

Also, what if they look like Zevran did in DA2? DNW

At least that can be fixed by a modder  *small comfort*

I don't want to see my City Elf lady, or femHawke, messed up, or their faces changed to some "preset." I just might cry. :crying:

If I wanted to play a human, I wouldn't play a fantasy role playing game.

protagonist is human...

i can't believe i feel as heartbroken as i do over this, b/c i totally saw it coming. i knew they'd get LAZY about race origin like that again. i'll keep the rest of my personal fantrum on this issue to myself b/c it's been done and overdone enough as it is.

as for the non-playable backgrounds we're going to get to select in advance...meh.

not what i would have liked, but i imagine they'll pull it off well in the writing, and what matters more is what happens when we get into the flesh of the game itself anyway. even if my gut is screaming NO, my gut has been known to be wrong before, so i'll wait and see.

the rest sounds pretty interesting. if the scope of the game is as large as they claim, both in terms of huge levels, and in even more hints about visiting MUCH more of the world, then there is a TON of potential for greatness in the gameplay.

plus, i could stand running into my Wardens/Hawkes as npc's. if they make them look funny, well, i'll get to laugh like crazy about it. nothing wrong with that. but i bet they wouldn't risk trying a stunt like this if they couldn't do a halfway decent job, so i'm not too worried.

Yeah I'm sure they said "Pft, non-humans? Too much work."

Then they proceeded to nap on the couch instead of doing anything else during the mandatory "only work on multiple races" hour!

Hey if your Warden is human or a male dwarf you got nothing to worry about. I am more concerned as already said about elves and female dwarves.  No fear over Hawke though since I can't see them going wrong with him/her looks in DA3. I am actually more excited to see my Hawke over my Warden. (Reason stated already.)

My question is how many voices are they going to be doing for the Warden? The Warden will obviously be voice right unless it is some kind of cameo/passerby/in a cutscene somewhere duking it out in a fight.

i have my doubts about the nap part...but the rest of it sounds about right, yes.  only followed up with...

"we got away with it last time, didn't we?"

:P

my favorite warden is a mahariel, actually.  i imagine she could end up pretty funny-looking, given not only that she's an elf, but has one of the MONSTER tatoos, and if they're actually having as many import issues as rumor suggests...

but i do have to admit i share your curiosity about what they're going to do with her voice.  i've been wondering about what she actually sounds like outside of combat since DA2 dropped.

I was there today.  This was a fan asked question during the q&a period.  It was basically asked if the Qunari would be coming back or seen again.  They said that there's a lot left to tell about the Qunari but they aren't the focus of DAIII.  That being said there is a good piece of content in the game with them where you'll learn more.

They also said that the DA universe possibilities could blow up bigger than ever after this game.  As in they have plans to keep doing games and telling stories in this universe they've created.

Stick a helmet and some generic warden armour on, and blam, all done.

...not to say that's what I want to happen but I'm guessing it's what will.

Except Bioware completely changed how the elves look. Even if they marry how their body looked in DAO & DA2, it'll be awkward to watch the elven Wardens now.
