So we are Human again. Really Bioware?

Agree, race options are never really that critical for most people. one of DAO's major selling points is the origin stories, not races, but some just like to exaggerate this issue in order to complain.
Yep we just want to complain. Its not like some of us are actually upset by Biowares choice.

Before DA3 was officially announced there were rumos that bioware was seeking inspiration from games like skyrim etc. so that gave me a small ray of hope. I mean really have any of you ever played skyrim the game is immense race origin and background wise, then they announce that you can only play as a human in DA3 that seems like a huge step backwards imo.
They are not going to waste resources on something a small minority will use.
Yes I loved playing different races but if having them is going to affect or remove other elements of the game then I DONT WANT THEM.
Do you guys even realize the costs to make a game like this?

Agreed. The origins barely did a thing after you meet up with Duncan and it just came down to cosmetics. They actually mentioned something along those lines today and they hope with the backgrounds it makes them easier to integrate that into the story from the first hour to the last.

If adding races takes away resources from other elements of the game then perhaps its for the best.
I WANT a Good game. I don't want them to take away elements from the game and use those resources that only a small percentage of people use.
They have not ruled out being able to play races in future games and the fact we can have a choice of backgrounds for our characters is a reasonable compromise

1) If they were looking at Skyrim it was probably world things like environments and the cave diving and crafting type things
2) No, money is infinite and this is not a business goshdarnit!

DAO was a great game and I didn't find it had a damn thing to do with the origin stories or races
DA2 was a good game and I quite enjoyed it except for Aveline and whiney Anders.

DA2 not doing as well as DAO did not center on the fact that you couldn't choose your race. More like DAO was in production for a long ass time, ensuring that whatever game BioWare wanted to make would be quality, whereas EA made BioWare rush the hell out of DA2.

Technically, the statistic was not that 85% of people played as human, but that 85% of playthroughs were as human. It is entirely possible that the vast majority of people who played more than one playthrough happened to play as a different race on their second time around. In that case, the statistic would be telling us that only a small proportion of people did a second playthrough. And I'm sure you wouldn't trivialise replayability as a "minority" interest (but perhaps I am wrong in this.)
The point I am trying to make is that the statistic is pretty meaningless on its own.

I would be happy for a DA2 2.0 game. That means it would be DA2 but with much less flaws.

I would really be surprised if there were high ranking inquisitors who were non human.
Or any non human inquisitors at all.
I think the chantry is pretty racist, when it comes to any major office holder, and probably entire orders.
It is part and parcel of why they are in trouble in the first place.
The chantry does not reflect the will of the people, only humans.
