I just read an article that stated we will once again be human. I play a human in real life, so how about letting me do something different in a fantasy setting? I don't imagine it would be too complicated to do so either. Rarely did being a city elf in Origins, actually affect the plot. And mentioning the race you are, or having dialogue calling me a knife ears, shouldn't be that complicated to insert every once in awhile. I think besides having no origin in DA:2, having to be human was a big set back for it as well.

Yep I was disappointed too. I wanted to be able to play as a nug... :'(

But seriously, I don't mind playing as a human since I only played as an Elf once and never as a Dwarf. So I'm good and content with that decision.

Ha, I was thinking more like playing a Qunari, seeing as they were vastly improved upon in DA:2. :)

A thread created in basically the same amount of time, with the exact same thoughts? Uncanny! Seriously though, I think that just validates my point that Bioware still needs to factor this in.

3 years into development and 6 months to a year before game release.

Player proposes that game be overhauled so that he can play an elf/dwarf/kossith.

Yeah, good luck with your cause.

I didn't realize implementing a playable new race, and where X is in dialogue, replacing human with elf, etc, would be a problem. :P

His was thread first and duplicate threads get locked. I posted the link as a courtesy to people who want to discuss the matter.

Well in the setting of Thedas it so happens that humans, elves, and dwarves, have different cultures and different reactions to each other. Simply slapping a new skin option and treating them exactly like a human is relatively cheap, but not the kind of experience that Bioware hopes to deliver.

We've already got a thread discussing this. Let's keep it to a single thread - thanks.
