Do you think the Inquisitor can oppose the Chantry?

Mere speculation at the moment, but I think opposing the Chantry should be a valid option.

I think it's kind of unfortunate. I wanted the option to either give Thedas to the mages or take it for myself. (I would do at least one playthrough of each.)

I would just be happy to have the option to get things back to how they was but with a few changes and a bit more freedom for mages once they took the harrowing.

I don't know too much about this "Inquisitor" (haven't been keeping up with the bits of info that have been teased), what kind of authroity do they derive?

Opposing the chantry would be heresy so I hope not.
Technically not, since we're not Thedosian. :innocent:

I didn't mean the Inquisitor. He/she would totally be a heretic. We wouldn't, though.
And as stated above, I want the option anyway.

After the Tevinter Imperium got mauled by the First Blight and before the Chantry and the Circle of Magi, the Inquisition was an order dedicated to protecting Thedas from blood mages and abominations. They went on to join the Chantry as the Templars and the Seekers of Truth under the Nevaran Accord in 1:20 Divine.
I'm guessing this means we'll be playing a Seeker, since they haven't broken away from the Chantry. Seekers are drawn from the Templars, but answer directly to the Divine. They have a mandate to root out corruption and protect the Chantry from both internal and external threats.
Edit: now that I think about it, we may not necessarilly be a Seeker, as that would make playing a mage...problematic
