How would you like the multiplayer to influence the game and why?

I would rather have the MP removed and it's budget and manpower moved to the SP development. But if they insist on including that MP crap then at least make it completely detached from the SP part of the game...

Damn EA and their moronic MP policy...

MP worked for ME 3 cause of the shooting elements. I'm not sure how it would translate in a fantasy game like Dragon Age. Now Co-Op mode that would be something really cool.

Based on ME3 I think the only way we could use MP in a way that "relates to the SP story" is either co-op campaign or having a hook in MP that relates it back to the SP (kind of like how MP in ME3 is playing the N7 squads that Hackett talks about).

Aside from that, I think we'd be treading on thin ice with a lot of weight on our shoulders. I'd be open to SP making an influence on MP, but not the other way around.[/

This is the way it should be.

Please, for the love of gaming, do not make any aspect of single player dependent on multiplayer.  Do not make any content, no matter how insignifigant, dependent on multiplayer to access.

I totally agree!

Is it not EA policy that forces Bioware and other companies to add a multiplayer component to their games?

EDIT: Why should we even bother discussing multiplayer when the big wigs at EA won't green light single player-only games?

"Artistic integrity"... heh, right. Image IPB

MP should have no effect on the SP story, unless the MP component is merely a co-op for SP.

I'm fine with MP granting superficial rewards that can be used in SP, like a weapon or armour, even XP, but that's it. No story influence. No endgame impact.

I find him very engaging, while I do not always agree with him its much more preferable to the silence.

I see no possible justification for either to impact the other at all.

What about a war map in Inquisitor HQ that shows which provinces are under which factions control. In MP you side with one faction and fight the globe for who controls each province, mages or templars.

In SP, encounters, shop items, quests etc will appear depending on which faction is in control. Stuff like mission difficulty will also be affected say for example, Templars control central Orlais, a promage mission in that area will be significantly harder then if mages were in control. But the rewards will also be higher.

Ideally, I'd prefer no MP.

If it must be included, then I'd prefer it not affect SP.

If it must affect SP, then I'd prefer buying another game.

Not that I'll be getting this game, but Bioware's promise of multiplayer not being tied to single player in ME3 was a bald faced lie. If I were you guys I'd be fighting tooth and nail to keep it out of the SP campaign.

I played multi-player a few years ago and I'm just not a person who gets into it. I won't even use it.

MP should have no bearing at all on the sp game. I really like ME3 mp but it should be a totally separate issue.

As long as it doesn't influence the single player narrative I don't care. Gear, items, gold, whatever... that's fine.

1.It wasn't a bald face lie at least not totally or meant to be. The EC has since fixed this issue and now ME3 multiplayer is no longer needed whatsoever. Its there if you don't want to do side-missions or searches in ME3 campaign. Another way to broaden and give you more choice on how you want to play your game.
.
2. That is what people have been doing in this thread and previous threads mentioning over and over that it shouldn't affect SP campaign. If it has any involvement it should only be in a cosmetic way vai getting gold/currency and or another way to get gear. Don't make anything exclusive to multiplayer in other words. Anything that a player does/get in multiplayer should be just as accessible for those playing only singleplayer. Personally as I mentioned before a drop-in drop-out co-op sounds just perfect to me or do something like they did with Old Republic when it came to conversations and choices. Just because other player chose this option it won't affect my story if I chose said other option/choice.

Multiplayer in Mass Effect still bothers me. I hate that it limited players who loved Destroy from seeing the special Commander Shepard scene. Yes, there were other means of affecting the scale for obtaining the scene, but multiplayer was the primary intent behind achieving it. Please never do this again.

I don't want any multi-player in the game at all. I bought a single player game for two games so why start now? Nor do I want multi-player to effect the singler player game if it is included. I don't want to play multi-player with other players online for an rpg game such as Dragon Age, this will totally ruin the game for me. Can't you guys just leave this aspect of DA alone? I may consider not buying DA3 if it is turned into a multi-player game. I'd rather those resources be given to developing the singler player game and making DA3 award worthy like DAO was. Nor will I buy anymore weapons packs that I went ahead and bought thinking there would be dlc to use them in. Nope, not doing it this time.

I personally wouldn't mind receiving items (e.g., weapons, armor, runes, etc.) from the multiplayer mode(s) to bring into the single-player campaign. At most, they would provide incentive for people to try out the multiplayer mode, without limiting parts of the story to someone who doesn't or can't participate.

Make MP story-based, ME3's MP is fun but kinda mindless.

If we have a castle, I suppose multiplayer could be related to missions your underlings go on and the booty acquired could be added to the castle's coffers.

Let's RP in the MP for an RPG. Wouldn't that be crazy?

I don't want to have to play multi-player just to gain high level weapons. No, just no. If we return to Ferelden and Kirkwall, I already have storage chest there if an import is included. I don't need multi-player for this purpose, nor does anyone who played DAO, DAA, and DA2 and all dlc. For higher level weapons we need quest and missions just like we did in DAO. Grrrrr, on multi-player.
