Mike says we'll be in charge of a castle in DA III.

Horrible image of castle.

Does this please you?

What are you hoping to see?

I'd like something like NWN 2's upgrade system or BG II's strongholds. I'd also like the castle to reflect your class.

Well, I'd like to have to take it by force or cunning and not have it granted. But if it's a reward for services I won't complain.

Management is fun, I don't expect anything like a SimTower-ish simulation, but dealing with issues related to the castle and its staff/population, as well as defending it from assault are all potentially awesome things.

Your point about the castle reflecting your class is cool too, though while the distinction between mage/nonmage seems easy, how a rogue!Castle and warrior!Castle are different isn't quite as simple to imagine?

I would like it to be kinda like DA:A where you had to make a few decisions and people came to you with there problems and you had to decide what to do with it. I think they could improve on it, but that is what I would mostly want in it.

I'd like to defend it against a siege. Perhaps sally forth to break the siege.

But not if that's all scripted and pre-determined. If my castle is under siege, let me decide how to deal with that. Perhaps a two-path design like the escape from Fort Drakon in DAO.

I really liked the stronghold in NWN2, and all the quests involved in owning/defending it (yesiamawareitisfromanobsidiangamethisisjustanexample).

I'd just like all the rooms to be open. Hawke's estate felt tiny. I'd also like to see visual changes implemented depending on story actions.

I'd also like to give Bodahn and Sandal their own room(s) this time around (if they're living there, but I think there's a strong possibility of that). I'd love to see what they do when they're not standing around waiting to serve the Warden/Hawke.

Like NWN2 but with the interaction aspects and decision making style/questing from Awakening. Acting as local judge for important issues was pretty cool.

I would love it if reflected a bit on what class i pick and perhaps on what choices i make during the game. Do i help this person/faction and in turn they offer to do certain stuff in the castle and we both win on this trade. I would also love if some management existed, like Shorts said, i don't expect a Sim City but having to defend it and deal with issues that might happen inside the castle would be quite fun to me at least.

I want the castle to be a reward. Even better if I have to conquer it, and then defend it. I'd like to have the option of upgrading it (with visual upgrade to) and recruit people to live and work in it.

Like the Assassin's creed 2 ville? That sounds like a wonderful Idea.

I wonder if the stronghold will get used as the party camp this time?

Four or more ladies free!

Edit: It's too bad we're probably not going to have control of our castle to quite this extent. We probably get either a brothel or a harem as options, though.

You mean the unwilling kind of slaves, or the kind of slaves who are in it for laughs?

Unwilling of course. We tried the willing slave in Da2 and the girl turned out to a total yawn fest.I want a slave reminiscent of Hanharr from kotor 2.He was defiant at first but through Agressive dialogue, you could break his will untill he was subserviant to the pc's every whim.

A work area where I can sharpen, "enchant", and empower my Murder Knife. My loyal companion. Ending every annoying NPC in the Dragon Age franchise.

Maybe even allow some custom skins for the Murder Knife and a quest on the origins behind it in the castle...

Can we neglect the castle completely? Cause that's what I think I'd do...

Bright light! Bright light!

I would like to craft my armor at the castle. I would also like to equip all of my companions while in the castle. I would like to sit down. If I have a pet, I want to be able to interact with the pet. I would also like a vendor of some kind as well. I really hope we can make improvements to the castle like selecting where bedrooms, kitchen, armory, etc. get to go. It would also be cool if we could sit down and have meetings or meals with companions somewhere too. A place to store the loot I don't want to sell and crafting materials, would be nice. Oh... and a bar with a bartender.

Evil Lair that comes in the form of a huge tower looming over the rest of the fortress.

Corrupted/Dark Templars guards and Tevinter mages guarding it.

A grand hall room with dark and archaic architecture.

Constant depressing weather around said fortress.

That is all.
