I agree that the castle should be a de facto companion. In fact, I think it should be an LI as well. A bisexual LI mind you, we don't want to be unfair to anyone by having the LI available to just one gender. God forbid a player would have to create an opposite gender character to romance the castle.

I love the Castle. I loved the one in NWN2, I loved the one in the DAO Expansion, I love all the cool things you can do with them. I like the idea of being able to use my Castle as a shield for my allies, giving them shelter from their enemies, and I like the idea of being able to develop superior weapons, and upgrading it so that anyone who would dare attack my team would feel the wrath of my upgraded castle, we would wipe them out decisively, showing them the true power of my awesome Castle! I'd also like to be able to use my castle as a location to hold Peace negotiations, between reasonable leaders on both sides. I'd like to be able to toss my enemies into the dungeons, and if we could dig underneath the Castle and find some really cool ruins, maybe even some tunnels and such, kind've like in the DAO Expansion, that'd be swell too. I really love everything about my Castle, and I don't even know anything about it yet . Other than, of course, it sure looks nice from the outside! Maybe we could customize that too, I might like to give it a nice fresh coat of paint, customize the color of it to suit my style. That'd be neato.

Yet another interesting idea is the ability to train your army there, gather folks from your journeys, send them to the castle, and let them get trained so that they can help defend the Castle. Perhaps even use the Castle as a new seat of Power, perhaps use it to become the new Empress of Orlais, or marry the Empress and have her move into the Castle with me and rule together. So many awesome possibilities, this is going to be the best game ever!

I'd like to indulge my inner architect and interior decorator, even if it is just in the limited ways of Skies of Arcadia or Overlord 2. That serpent throne was awesome.

I'd like to set up a shrine to the Dalish Creators, if only to troll any visiting nobles.

And speaking of nobles - some people talk of a siege event, I want to prepare for and arrange a noble ball event. We're going to be in Orlais, right? Parties can be just as ruthlessly political as overt force. Perhaps we'll even be able to arrange for Leliana's services as a bard or something.

I'd like to pick my servants, not just have them assigned to me by the plot. Even if my only choice for Senechal, for example, would be between Ms. Pacifica Flowerchild and Mr. Tyrannus Macbeth III. At they very least they would give different advice when dealing with matters of court and law.
