What do you want to do with your castle?

Tired of being serious on the forums.....I'll jump here.....

I liked Vigil's Keep a lot.

You weren't just trouncing about on adventures, you were the Arl/Arlessa, so you had to upgrade your fortress, provide munitions to your soldiers, dispense Justice of the conceptual kind (maybe the literal kind too) to your vassals and do all sorts of fun political intrigue/ assassination bits.

I'd like to do that again. And if we are in Orlais, we can throw a masquerade ball in there somewhere. And living Warden and Hawke (with LI,if you ran away with one) can show up with masks and then we won't cry about borked faces.

Mike says we'll be in charge of a castle in DA III.

Horrible image of castle.

Does this please you?

I think I can answer that question by stating that the sight of your thread has induced an ongoing "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" within my brain, which I think would have been a squee, but in my delighted shock I skipped the first two letters.

OMG CASTLE! It was so cool in NWN2 and Awakening, but I always thought it could be even cooler, and now it might be the case! CASTLE!!!!! EEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'd like to have to take it by force or cunning and not have it granted. But if it's a reward for services I won't complain.

Management is fun, I don't expect anything like a SimTower-ish simulation, but dealing with issues related to the castle and its staff/population, as well as defending it from assault are all potentially awesome things.

Your point about the castle reflecting your class is cool too, though while the distinction between mage/nonmage seems easy, how a rogue!Castle and warrior!Castle are different isn't quite as simple to imagine?

I like all these idea's and to them I'll add being able to upgrade it, fortify battlements, strengthen the Keep, that sort of thing, and being able to purchase different 'theme' sort of like the Fallout 3 homes.
I'd also like quest's in the castle, clearing dungeons, exploring caverns under the castle, that sort of thing.

We're getting a Castle? Thats pretty cool.

I guess I would want lots of Magic stuff in it. I don't really know what else. I've got simple tastes.

I pretty much want an ACIII Homestead-like castle which I can rule over, pass judgement over events, upgrade it and have it change based on decisions I make during the course of the story or upgrade it myself (maybe both?).

Kingdoms of Amalor: Reckoning, just rip it off for succusful castleship, prefferibly the Dead Kel Island Fortress style of castle ownership, cause you may as steal the greatest homebase management ever employed in a rpg in human history

...or y'know, you could just repeat the absolute failure with the keep in awakening, if you want to ****** your fanbase off more then usual bioware, cause why aim high when you set the bar so low? amirite?

I want to provide for the people in the castle.

If the people need meat I must hunt for it or send someone to buy it with money I provide.
If someone gets sick i need to have a healer avaliable.

Also a connection to the deep roads would be awesome.
Random weather would be great as well.

I'd like to manage castle assets. Put forth money toward Food, Munitions, Trade, Research, etc.

I'd like the castle to be a personality all its own. Get to "know" the castle - have events happen in specific parts of the castle and then have those events "alter" the castle somehow so when you walk past a part of the castle you say: "This is where I first kissed my love interest." or "This is where the Crow tried to kill me."

And I desperately want civilian clothes - and I'd like them to serve some form of in game function. Perhaps if there were things to do at the castle - the clothes would give bonuses to performing those tasks.

I would NOT be opposed to crafting - but not individually crafting.. more like crafting management of your blacksmith, bow maker, etc.

I'd like to send my NPC companions out on missions by themselves - and then play those missions from their perspective (ME does something like this occasionally)

We need a show room/armory of some sort, you collect different sets of cool armors during the game, but you only wear the one with best stat, however lower tiered armor still look unique and I wish to see it displaced like in Assassin's Creed series, plus weapons too. Of course not every set, just ones that have a codex description (special named sets).

Differences between good and evil. With my good character it is a place of order, justice... And with Evil it will be my personal Dreadfort (see what I did there).

You mean the unwilling kind of slaves, or the kind of slaves who are in it for laughs?

Unwilling of course. We tried the willing slave in Da2 and the girl turned out to a total yawn fest.I want a slave reminiscent of Hanharr from kotor 2.He was defiant at first but through Agressive dialogue, you could break his will untill he was subserviant to the pc's every whim.

Sorry, phrased the question poorly. Actual slaves, or just really fun LIs?

Or actually, I think I can guess from the tone of your above post. Never mind.

(By the way, there really ought to be a slavery option in this game. It's officially illegal in Orlais, but apparently that doesn't actually stop anyone.)

Yes please let us have some slavery options in the game! This could bring so much funImage IPB

Well I hope they build on the various aspects running your own fortress (Vigils Keep) provided in Awakening. Managing trade routes and gaining access to better merchants. Improving your defenses with better equipped and experienced guards, repairing damaged or aging walls and holding court. Personalising the fortress with it's own look or costum coat of arms would be fun.

I also quite liked the fact your keep became a trophy room of sorts for completed quests such when it displayed things like the dragon skull and golem armour.

I would very much like to have the chance to go Bane on some particularly stupid and stubborn mages. Which would of course require a prison-pit that I can throw my enemies into.
