I want to have a pro-mage and a pro-templar servant, minion, etc and they bicker constantly spouting all the arguments we've seen on the boards over the years. I'd include a pro-elf minion but they'd just end up in solitary confinement in the dungeon eating up valuable resources.

+ 1,000,000

And a romance writer / reader and a warrior that thinks all romance books are a waste of time, constantly bickering and rehashing the BSN flame wars

I want a Dark Tower to act as a fulcrom for my ultimate evil spell. Since Magi and non-Magi as well as Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Darkspawn, and Qunari will never get along, I will cast a spell fusing all life together into a new form of life.

I will call it Synthesis and the spell will be green.

A Mud-Room.

Srsly. I'll never get one in real life. I'd at least like my hero to be able to strip off that filthy gear and walk through the castle naked to the bathing area whilst leaving most of the filth in said Mud-Room.

And occasionally a Ninja, armed with the Bann hammer, will show up to knock'em on the heads.

Only when they say something really stupid.

On a more serious note, if this actually happens there should be several pairs of people debating. A couple polite pairs making the smarter arguments for each side, and a couple of moronic pairs acting like kids.

Though this should only go on in the castle if the Inquisitor acts as a neutral party. Otherwise, you'd think whoever he opposes wouldn't want to work for him.

Decorate!!!! Lol, I am such a girl. Seriously, I want to be able to customize and upgrade and see the differences from the choices I make affect the castle. I want it to be a place where my hero and the companions interact, plan battle strategies, defend from enemies, provide haven to persecuted people, and collect merchants, etc. to work within castle walls.

Also, castle stables for my many horsesImage IPB

What I want in my ideal castle (the full laundry list- not a realistic set of demands by any stretch. XD):

Ability to display cool armor/weapons in racks a la Skyrim.

Kitchen where I can craft food.

Bathing and toilet facilities- not necessarily to use, but I want to know if Thedas uses garderobes that open onto a moat, or whether they have outdoor privies, or dwarven plumbing.  Hawke's room had a giant chamberpot, and the Circle tower mages had buckets (seriously???  In a tall tower overlooking a lake that you pour magical potion remnants into, you don't have garderobes???) but in reality many chamberpots were small, handheld, and stored under the bed for night use only.  During the day you used the privy.  In any case I want the rooms for verisimillitude.

Library where I can store book collections/codex entries and see how many I have left to find for the achievement that will no doubt be paired with it.

Alchemy room/stillroom for potions and/or poisons.

Rush mats on the floors.

Grand hall where I can receive petitioners and choose to help them (or not.)

Training yard where I can play a sparring minigame with my guards to improve their martial skills.

Small, cozy common room where I can play a Wicked Grace or Diamondback minigame with my companions.

Smithy and living quarters for Wade and Herren. <3

Living quarters for ALL of my companions, servants' quarters for servants (maybe I have a spy or a thief in my servant population, and I have to go rifle through their belongings to find the culprit!)  I also want my companion's rooms to reflect the gifts I give them and the choices I make regarding their story- if I give them a necklace or a mirror or a key or ???  I want to see it on their dresser.

My own bedroom with a bed my character can actually sleep in, with a save utility built in.  Also I want my LI to move into my room with me when we hook up, bringing their belongings with them.    And I want the ability to bed them as many times as I want, unless story requires that it not be possible (i.e. Zevran's refusal.)  If my LI dies I want to sob over their possessions.

Graveyard- if my family or companions (or my companions' families) die, I want to visit their graves.  And I want to be able to put flowers on their graves, too.

Weather!  Snow on the ramparts!

Bandit incursions, hire-able guards that can die (permanently) if not trained, a siege where people starve if I haven't stockpiled enough in the way of provisions.

I want to be able to buy decorations as a gold sink and be able to rearrange some furniture into slots intended for a variety of furnishings.

Servants hanging laundry and beating the dust out of rugs outside on nice days.

Either a 24 hour clock or changes between night and day a la DA2.  Candlelight at night, sun streaming through the windows during the day.

Curtains (or no curtains. XD)

A chapel where my devout party members/guards can hang out and where I can trigger discussions about religion.

An infirmary where my Healer hangs out, actually healing people.  Maybe even delivering babies, if such a thing actually exists in Thedas.  I have yet to see any, but have hope.

For my party members that live in my castle to move around, maybe even have a schedule (as in Skyrim) where they sleep, eat, occupy the privy (no matter how much I bang on the door and demand that they get out!), practice their skills, relax, hang out with each other, etc.

Snowball fights and forts minigames in winter- a river or lake where my companions and I can sun themselves and swim in summer.  Flowers in spring and leaves falling in autumn.

Random disastrous events- giant rats in the pantry, a mudslide due to heavy rains, scaffolding collapsing during upgrades.

Dogs and cats roaming around- dog kennels where I can train my hounds for war, or take them with me hunting.

HOLIDAYS with appropriate swag and decorations.

A sexy steward like Seneschal Varel. <3

Treasure room where I can store my gold- the more I put in, the more visually full the room appears- chests overflowing with coin, gem-encrusted goblets and plates, super-fancy dress armor.

A sock blind.

A warded room for my mages to practice without blowing up the place.  Magical accidents result in a random event of demons coming from the Fade, and which requires my attention.  Maybe Sandal hangs out here, too, making shinies.

Unearth a tunnel with access to the Deep Roads.

Stables, with haystacks where I can invite my LI for a fade-to-black moment.

I want to be able to buy clothes, set outfits, and store them in dressers or wardrobes.  Then I can pull out my fancy dress for the masked ball I'm holding in the ballroom! :D

Ballroom for parties.  Also a moment of dancing with my LI, instructing them if they're clumsy, or having them instruct me if my PC is clumsy.

I want to be able to interact with stuff.  I want to be able to go into every room, even if I can't do anything.  I want the layout to be practical and to reflect actual, livable design so that I can more fully immerse myself in the game.  I want minigames, events, customization and personalization for both myself and my companions.

I would like to have the option to invite people to live in my castle depending on the situation. Like my slave Orana in DA2.

How about hot springs?

I'd also like two statues made: one of Anders and one of Meredith. I'd always have one put out in the open and one hidden, depending on which visitors I want to troll.

I want the option to have it guarded by demons. If I'm playing a baneful magister goblin, I damn well want to have the accouterments!

And hot springs. Definitely hot springs.

I think if they built upon how they handled Vigil's Keep in Awakening, they'd be on the right track. I enjoyed looking for resources to improve the keep and then seeing things change. I think seeing these kinds of upgrades and interactions with your keep unfolding as you progress would be pretty cool.

I want to be able to set elaborate traps and defenses to rain down doom upon invaders or peasants. Castle needs several things to make it complete. A cauldron full of boiling oil, lots of flags and banners, we'll need many arrow men, and a pigeon lady.
I think a similar set up to Dragon Age Origins camp would work, but instead of a camp each character gets a room or remains in a hall. The supply boxes and our allies would meet in some special room. We also need a map room, that acts as a quicker option for moving around in the world that way we can avoid any loading screens in the castle & whatever village is around it.

Maybe BioWare could add to the castle with each patch? Much like MMO's give free content updates? They don't have to be huge, just little details that make things so much better.
