There are many debates on the forums on wheather to have all minor choices to be imported in DA3(which I think is dumb) or start with no save imports at all(also dumb)So I read here http://kotaku.com/59...-dragon-age-iii that Bioware will maybe figure out some kind of Alternative to save import my idea is only the important questions when you created your charather like:

Option 1 skip

Option 2 anwser questions about your DA history:

Question 1:The Hero of Ferelden was Human noble/dalish elf....

Qustion 2:The Hero of Ferelden did what at the circle

Question,3,4,5,6:Dalish,Orzamar,Redcliffe and Urn

Question 7:The Hero of Ferelden put on the throne Alistar/Anora/Anora+alistar/Alistar+warden/Warden+Anora

Question 8:Did the Hero of Ferelden,If yes how,did he do the Ritual and who killed the archdemon

If The Warden survived based on question 8

Question 9:What did the warden do after he killed the archdemon

Stayed with his love Leliana travel,Alistar stay at throne,Morrigan Portal etc...

Stayed with his friend Alistar etc...

If Warden died

Question 9:The Warden's LI was:Leliana,Morrigan,Alistar,Zevran?

Do you like my idea?

Save imports better be present in some form or I'm done with this section of bioware.I didn't grind all those hours decision making for nothing.

At this rate, it looks like we might have. :(

At least I haven't done it for DA2 yet.

It's what I end up doing with a save editor anyway, so that's fine.

Glad we feel the same way,I just don't want them to spend their time on all that minor choices, like did you made Alistar or Morrigan cook,as most people want their every minor tiny choice imported.

I hope they do something like that cause I do not want to have to replay DA0 and DA2 3 more times just because I decided to change over from PS3 to Xbox.

They said that the save imports could be an issue because of the engine change. Then they followed that up by saying how they're looking at alternatives.

They'll figure something out. It will satisfy most but upset a few over something minor and they will cry bloody murder.

I've got a somewhat clunky idea.
First, presets just like DA2.
Second, a looooong list of questions to answer, then save it as another preset, so you don't have to keep filling them out for other playthroughs.

I hope they do a save generator, and I also hope it is included on the disk and not DLC.

Just put together an official version of what Gibbed's Save Creator let us do for DAO->DA2 saves.  It wouldnt, unlike that program, create an actual "save" but a file that DA3 could read and use to set flags appropriately.  Heck, put it in the actual game itself even. Or leave it as a utility in some folder.  The former makes sense since it seems like it would be... more similar across platforms.  Maybe have a New Game button and a Custom Game button, letting the player choose between a default state and one where you can set whatever plot flags you want for any given game, respectively.

Alternatively, let us set flags online tied to our EA account, something we'll probably be required to have in some fashion regardless of platform.  Then load the flags through the internets.  This presents a problem for offline gamers, but I'm guessing it won't be the only problem facing offline gamers.

Stuff that's already done at least once before includes an ingame comic (Playstation 3 Mass Effect 2) or ingame dialogue where you can acknowledge/correct NPCs on their memory of what had happened (KOTOR 2, although that was Obsidian, a little bit at the beginning of Mass Effect 2).

They key for any solution is probably cross-platform support.  It'd be kind of irritating, not to mention confusing, if the method was different across platforms.  It'd be infuriating to those left out of it was exclusive to any given platform as well.  So... yeah, cross-platform solutions are probably - I'm guessing here - the only ones they're considering.

I'm not sure if I support precisely your suggestion, but suggestions are probably worth throwing around.  It's a problem that calls for a creative solution, if save game imports simply won't work as before.

In that sense a discussion thread is valuable, if not necessarily a support-HeroicGreyWarden's solution thread.  Nothing personal, but if BioWare is keeping their options open, so should we.

I can't understand why save imports wouldn't work as before (from player's perspective at least). At the end of the day it's just converting from one file format to another... right? I'm expecting some kind of save game converter shipped with the game, even if it's not part of the game UI (if memory serves, save game import from ME->ME2 was done via the config utility? Something similar to this...)

Or, as Upsettingshorts suggested above, uploading save flags to BSN via EA account. This seems easy enough to accomplish (as the games theoretically upload progress anyway), at the disadvantage of requiring online access for DA3, at least at the start.
