Typhoon recoils more as it levels up!

This was removed in a balance fix a few weeks ago but it looks like the version in the new weapons pack still has this problem.

I loaded up a level 60 Shepard to play with this gun at level 10 and it has horrendous recoil without a stability mod. I see videos of the singleplayer version at level 1 having no recoil and I have to say that this disappoints me a little. <_<

It's really a shame they just slap these weapons in packs and don't bother to look at them.

I just found out about this. I wondered why the recoil was so horrendous, despite what everyone was saying.

THey put the pre-buff/nerf weapons in, IE however they were when introduced to multiplayer. The Typhoon originally had a glitch that, as level increased, recoil increased with it. However the SP Typhoon is the Pre-nerf MP typhoon so it's a good trade off. The Pre-nerf Typhoon was a monster.

Just tried out a Typhoon V in sp today and I agree that the recoil is greater than in mp, though stability mod helps with this a lot.

The damage, though, is incredible. With incineary ammo it tore through an Atlas like it was made out of paper.

I've been playing with it some more. On Insanity I feel like it works better as a squadmate weapon than a main weapon for Shepard since they are unaffected by limited ammo and recoil.

The weapon is insanely powerful and has a 1.5 modifier against armor/shield/barrier and it can penetrate 1 meter of cover by default. A little recoil on level up is a very fair price to pay for its initial stats, especially since there is a mod for that.

Did you check that it was the same difficulty? Narrative difficulty has significantly simplified weapons handling. Was it recorded at the same time? Any chance the recoilless video was modded?

It's possible that it is a bug, of course - accfirepenalty is an x,y pair (e.g. Avenger X=10.7, Y=10.7) so a typo could mess things up.

Yes. It's ridiculous on Garrus and James, both of whom have ammo powers that are great against armor. I watched James take out a Brute in about 2 seconds single handedly.

It's also fantastic on Ashley as she has Marksman and Disruptor ammo, so all the weaknesses of the Typhoon are taken care of.

I was wondering why Garrus was taking out Brutes faster than I ever did. I've actually lost track of a Banshee and had Garrus and Kaidan kill it while I couldn't see it.

i got the typhoon in mp when it fitst cane out and had prayed it would come out for sp. and now that it is i am happy as hell. it does have a recoil, but just slap the stability mod onto it and problem solved. i would recommend using incindeary ammo with it. emenies just melt away.
i was only letting my shep use it, badass weapon for the badass commander. but reading these post i may play another insanity game and give it to my sqaudies.

wtf... pre nerf weapons? lol. I was wondering why james wreak havoc with the piranha... just rofl'stomp anything in his path.

the recoil was fixed, the nerf from 2.0x damage to 1.5x damage on ramp up was not reversed

the weapon is near godlike at rank 10
before the nerf it was tearing through bosses in a single clip at rank 1
