I think it'd be neat if (at least some) of the companions are faction leaders of some kind, in that they have a number of followers and you get to have dealings with their followers that are affected by your companion relations and vice versa.  This could tie in well with the castle/stronghold concept.  Maybe some of them could even *assemble* their factions as you go along.

For an example, it would be like if Izzy actually had her ship and crew available.  And maybe Fenris would pick up the various slaves you find and free as his complement.  Stuff like that.

I'm hoping for factions to be included, and Companions being connected to those factions would be cool.

If we have leverage over already existing factions I will be happy... for example, we can pull a few strings and pay out a few gold pieces and Cullen will send a few of his templars to help you fight some mages... Varric can pull his weight and get you hefty loans from the merchants guild, and if you dont pay up, they try to take it out of your face... things like this...

Depends on what the role of Inquisitor will be. If we command armies then I wouldn't mind assigning companions to important posts. It could actually be fun to have differences play out based on who you choose to be what.

If the Inquisitor is a investigator such as I suspect; who gets more into detailed tasks with his group of specialists, then I can't see the connection.

I like that. In ME3, we have Jack with the biotic army, Tali with the quarian army, and Wrex with the krogan army. It would give a purpose to the followers.

Wouldn't a faction leader be too busy leading their faction to be following the PC around as a companion?

That would be interesting.

Maybe at some point in the story a conflict of interest happens between two of your companions factions and you have a number of results depending on how you deal with it.

i.e a faction might not support you at all, or they might join the enemy side, or they might decide to compromise and still support you and work with the other faction, maybe they'll still support you but not as much etc. etc.

Maybe they'll even attack you if you anger them enough/don't solve the issue.

Just as long as its integrated into the story well
