Listen, I'm pretty sure Half Elves aren't a thing. They really aren't that great a race anyway; they lack both the bonus feat from humans and they aren't bonus for those broken Luck feats.
Lol.

Yeah, but you can multi-class as a Half-Elf without experience penalties. All classes are favored classes for Half-Elves.

The only reason to be a half elf is for the summoner favored class bonus. More Eidolon evolutions is a good thing. =D
However, what good is a summoner when one can be a Malconvoker? Oh the hilarious situations we can get ourselves into.
But yes, half elves, not really all that great. Dwarves, now, Dwarves are where it's at. No encumberance is always a good thing.

Oh, that? I thought they were discussing the Half-Elves from Neverwinter Nights.

Maybe we could play as king Maric's bastard son.
Who knows how many bastard children King Maric had though. He had one with a maid and another one with an elf. They could also give the female option a different origins. I just think that if it's a half-elf, it would be a wasted opportunity to not incorporate it in somehow. It would also make the books more revelant by making more connection with the game, IMO .LobselVith8 wrote...

Wouldn't that prevent players from choosing a female protagonist, since Fiona's baby was a boy?

And borderline broken. Dwarves running around in full plate and wearing hundreds of pounds of gear without slowing them down, the absurdity!
On the other hand half-elves do have some nice race specific alternate class features.

Eh, it isn't worth it when you can be a Drow Noble and have Greater Darkness whenever you want. It's just not fair, really. Drow Noble op.

Can Bioware give us that origin?

Forced to play as a human? Irritating, but not unsalvageable, as half-elves count as human. In this way, we could have a city elf or Dalish cultural background in some way and still not automatically get thrown out of whatever exalted position that only humans could occupy, thus removing some of the pain from Bioware's latest gutstab. I implore you to go after this possibility.
