My dual-wielding rogue Likes the look of one sword and one dagger. So that's what she dual-wields. Since she pretty much obliterates everything in her path by level 14 or so...with momentum, I am not really sure cares.

Besides, dual wielding 2 long-swords is slower, So damage per hit may be higher, but the time per hit is slower. With one longsword and one dagger, the speed is almost too fast to comprehend. she becomes a blur. A lethal blur. And with whirlwind , she's so fast and so deadly, it's actually the most fun I've had playing any character. I usually play and enjoy mages. But this game is a win for the rogue.

It's not always about numbers. She wields Topsider's honor because what it stands for. As effective a killer as she is, what do I care about 2 or 3 more hit points. Especially since she gains an extra hit prob. every 3, because of the added speed. And since she rarely is even in danger because how fast she kills, why should I care if she can dual wield long swords. She's a dwarf. It would look ridiculous.

One thing you have ignored is that dual-wielding swords increases the damage of skills like Dual-Weapon Sweep and Whirlwind.

Too bad dual wielding daggers means your auto attack damage is higher than most skills.

Any more people want to chime in with the useless "yea its okay for it to be unbalanced, i dont care" argument?

If this is dedicated to rogues being OP, watch my Creation-type Mage kill everything solo without getting hit O_o I only need to use Glyph of Repulsion, and Paralyze.. So sick some times.

Medieval: Total War, but that wasn't my point!  :bandit:

It's okay for it to be unbalanced, because dual-wielding pins and needles is for flamboyant fops like Zevran. Real men dual-wield Yukaris and Starfang!

Should we? And is it unballanced? Who cares about ballance? What's the point of ballance? What is ballance? Does it matter?

If it makes such a huge difference to the OP he really should plan his battles better.

Seems to matter to those who are afraid their NPC party members will OD them. I just strip them naked and put on hold when I want to be teh uberest damage dealer :innocent:

Except that some people actually play the game for fun, not to make big numbers. So it is far from "pointless"

Actually dual wielding anything other than daggers is pointless.

A comparison of DPS with dual wielding tier 7 swords(e.g. keening blade, top sider's honor, etc) and lower tier daggers show that the daggers do much more damage, primarily due to :

-Superior crit chance

-Superior armor penetration

-Superior attack speed, the biggest factor

When flaming weapons gives you +23 damage per hit, attack speed is the biggest factor of DPS.

1. Flaming Weapons does not give +23 damage on normal weapons. If it does its a bug. It caps out at 12 damage +50% if the enemy if Undead.

2. Daggers scale poorly since they use 2 stats to up with damage (either str/dex or cun/dex). Add to that Daggers only get 85% of that bonus as well.

eg 1 point of Dex will increase dagger damage by .35. 1 point of strength will increase damage by 1 for a sword (1.1 for an axe). While there are tricks to help daggers, on just base scaling they get smashed.

But is it not also true that daggers attack twice as quickly, so you will get your dagger bonus twice for every one hit of your sword? This helps fix daggers scaling a lot, and then you add runes and weapon spells, and the doubling effect on them makes things silly.
85% of 50% is 0.425. not 0.35. The comparison would be more like 'swords get 1 point per attribute, daggers get 0.425 damage twice, per attribute'.

Well I dont see prancing around and yelling "ZOMG I hit for 9000" as something much weirder than going balistic over nonexistant pixel romance (I know its not pixels but I am too lazy to search for proper expression now).
Whatever rocks our boats, right?

Oh, and I dont care about being called "sir", or even "lady", I always have a feeling they snicker behind my back when they call me so :?

Didnt you read the part where i said that i dont really care how much i hit for as long as my team wins? I think we have consistantly misunderstood each other, not trying to start a flame war here and i really dont want one
