So, you are suposed to be able to use the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom in and out on the main screen and scroll through codex enteries and stuff. However, just useing the scroll wheel like I would while brouseing the internet does not work. Instead I have to spin the wheel really fast and several times to get even a slight response from the zoom. I have tried setting the scroll sensitivity in the options menu at 1.00 and 3.00 and have seen no difference.

Anyone else having this proublem?

Hmmm i dont have this problem but ill try to help. What kind of mouse are you using? Does the wheel function properly in other games? Try re-installing the driver's for the mouse. Tweak the sensitivity settings in dragon age. All else fails, buy a new mouse (i recommend a G5).

Mouse works fine in every other game that needs it and windows app. I adjusted the in-game sensitivity to both ends of the scale and did not notice a difference.

My main mouse is a Microsoft Wireless Lazer Mouse 5000. I pluged in my old wired mouse (a Microsoft IntelliMouse) and had no sucess.

So the old mouse has the same problems? Interesting. I don't have dragon age on this computer or i could mess with some settings. I can imagine how annoying this would be. If you haven't figured it out by later tonight i will get back on and see if i can help.

This is a common problem with Vista and windows 7 and Microsoft advanced mouse drivers. There is an partial solution but it will disable all the advanced features that come with the mouse. Just uninstall all the mouse drivers and then unplug the mouse, and plug it back in and windows will automatically install basic mouse drivers which work fine with the game (although you can't use advanced features or extra buttons, you can at least zoom).
To unistall the drivers In vista 64-bit, click Start, Control Panel, View Hardware and devices, click the + next to Mice and other pointing devices, Right click on HID-compliant mouse and select uninstall. Your mouse should stop working then, unplug it and plug it back in and Windows will automatically install basic drivers which work fine with the game but all the extra mouse features will be disabled... oh well. At least you can zoom :)

Well that is not a solution - I use my extra buttons for games like World of Warcraft. What doesn't Dragon Age do that every other mouse driven game does for this not to work? Are EA going to fix this because right now the game is unplayable?

And I also use the Microsoft Wireless 5000 mouse.

ok here's the deal. I had to go into the control panel and add/remove programs and uninstall the microsoft intellipoint software. Oce I did this, I followed the instructions to remove it from device manager and bam.. works great! Maybe I can get the mouse to lean left and right in call of duty now... We'll see.. But yeah, had this problem and now its fixed!
