Am i the only person who wants this bug not to be fixed? Collectors are the only fun faction to fight anymore. In my opinion the combo should stay bugged, It's more challenging and more fun that way, for me and people I play with anyhow.

Actually, I'm not too sure fixing the scion double attack will do too much. What characters have more than 1.4k/2.1k shields?
With damage resistances a krogan can get upwards of 16k effective shields. So it does matter for some characters. Krogans in many situations should be able to take those hits and keep on truckin.
So is this one a patch-scale fix or a weekly release fix?

I would think the easiest thing to do would be to leave the double damage bug in and simply cut the scion blaster damage in half. Should be easy peasy.

Ugh, what a kluge...
But we are probably a ways away from another patch. Once before I suggested holding the line on things that needed a patch to fix rather than a band aid balance change.
This is somewhat significant though and we are a ways off from a patch. Sounds like a solution to me *sigh*
i feel a bit a part of me wants it fixed and another part doesnt want it fixed but the bug does seem to be causing the game overall to be harder even without Collectors. There may be no way to fix it but still leave Collectors the Boss faction .

The dev in the OP said the issue was likely affecting other enemies as well, so it's not just Collectors
Also, scions cannons are most probably doing 2x more damage than they should. (Whenever a scion shoots a character, 2 instances of the same damage is dealt. This does not bypass protection gates.) Scions do 2800/4256/5600/6720 damage per shot in the 4 difficulties respectively. (These numbers are already doubled.)
Is scion damage still wonky? Or is this how it's supposed to be? Video shows it peeling off 1750 shields in one shot and doing 1447 dmg in the second shot (stopped by health gate I assume). Nothing else was shooting me at the time I don't think.

I think this is expected behavior... the silver shield gate is too short to protect you from the second shot. I'm not sure how hard a Ravager hits on Silver, exactly, but I think you'd see the same behavior there.
There is a good reason to necro this thread, though. The bigger problem I have with Collectors - that I'm unaware of being fixed - is incorrect detonation scaling of tech/biotic explosions. They fixed some incorrect scalings vs. other enemies, and stated Collectors were going to be fixed in an upcoming balance update, in this update from a month ago.
I just went through the balance update thread again, and nowhere does it say the Collector scaling has been addressed up through the present.
Has this been ninja fixed, oh testers amongst us? Or does it remain an outstanding issue? Either way, I think this thread needs to be revivied for a bit.

I hope that isn't the case, given the lead time to develop/debug patches across all platforms. It's apparent that they thought (at least a month back) that it could be fixed using weekly updates... I've been waiting for this to get fixed before going up against Collectors on purpose.
It's possible it was just forgotten in the rush for Omega. In any event, this thread needs more airtime.
