The biotic modifier I can understand being an intended feature to prevent biotics from being too potent.
But the scion damage HAS to be a bug, I see no legitimate reason why they would put in something so ridiculous by design.... and if it is intentional, we at least deserve a damn good explanation why a single cannon shot should deal 5600 damage, removing 80% of my krogan sentinel's shields, when he's got 75% DR from rage and tech armour....

If it is true and is intended, then it is indeed one more dumb way to jack up difficulty.Kenadian wrote...
Wow. Wonder if it's intended and not a bug?

Wouldn't surprise me if it was, actually. The Geth are balanced around their broken mechanics and while BW has stated that they're "looking into them", I wouldn't hold my breath. Honestly, if the Scions get nerfed, it will probably be a rather insignificant nerf.

Scions have just as much armor as a Geth Prime or a Banshee. When possessed, their armor increases by 1.5x, which probably outweighs any shield/barrier the latter have.
Praetorians are roughly tied with Atlases for the most durable boss unit (more armor, less shield/barrier), but become absolute monsters when possessed.
Also it doesn't have stats for Seeker Swarms or Collector Webs.

Bring a gun into collector games.
BIG gun... number one.
Also Scions. 5600 dmg on gold.
So a turian with around 2k + 4k from stim usage can take 1 shot barely.
A Kroguard can't even take this sort of punishment... insane man.

They also have issues with being frozen. Three times I've been shot by troopers who I've hit with snap-freeze.
That's doesn't seem to be a Collector bug - secondary targets hit by snap freeze do not freeze.

If you're close to them, even if you dodge their melee and sneak around behind them, they will insta kill you.
Then, the posessed Scion, that fires clusters of grenades everyother chance it gets, making it near impossible to revive anyone when they're around.

This right here is the reason you have a complete duality of players on BSN with opposite opinions of Collectors.
If you see a post where people imply Collectors are easy - they're people gliding through Platinum with mostly weapons classes.
If you see a post where people imply Collectors are difficult to impossible - they're using power classes. Which work great in most non-Collector cases now (kudos to the techsplosion changes), but NOT vs. Collectors.
The groups I've breezed through Collectors with have an over-representation of infiltrators, Devastators / Turian soldiers, and Demolishers. Things get debuffed. Then things melt in a hail of lead. When I took an all-Adept / biotic team vs. Collectors, it was a nightmare.
So, yeah. I totally believe this. And take anyone's comments about Collectors with a grain of salt.

This. When Retaliation came out I couldn't believe the sheer number of people who felt that there was nothing wrong with Collectors, but now I can see why. It's understandable for some classes to be more effective against certain enemy factions more than others, but there's no reason why Collectors should have an inherent damage resistance to one type of power when their health values and gameplay mechanics already discourage power use.
