We did not get our elf for dragon age 3, but fear not dragon age 4 we might get elf.
Mike Laylaw had hinted in twitter they want  to explore each race in detail.                                                                    There are 4 race they want to explore Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Qunari.
I am hoping that dragon age 4 and 5 we will explore the elf.

As long as the elf doesn`t look anything like a DA2 elf. Sure. Still, I would easily trade raciel depth for being able to play the race I want to play. Its an rpg (or is it really?) after all. One should get to create your own character.

That's a lovely thought! Here's hoping they do that.

Unless they make another Dragon Age game that "requires" an exclusively human protagonist.

So i have to wait till like 2016 to play as the character that I want to play as in a fantasy RPG?

Quite so. But i don`t think any of them had lots of racial options, and then suddenly removed the options in the sequels.

I would be miserable playing an elf... especially a "lithe, pointy eared elf that excels at poverty".

If I could have a masculine robust elf that doesn't talk like he's got a vice on his nads - maybe I could accept that.

I'd so much rather have a Qunari - but especially a dwarf. Dwarven politics fascinated me in the Dwarf Noble origin... I could play an entire game of that.

I agree. the dwarves rock in the DA universe. The elves just scream "please opress me".

Maybe we should wait until DA3 is released until speculating on DA4.

It's probably a better idea for now to request playable races for multi player or DLC if you want it that badly.

The Origins should have been brought back. Elves, Dwarves, and Kossith would make for interesting protagonists who can provide varied points of view for the player, rather than another religiously Andrastian human protagonist.

As I said in another thread, being forced to play just a human again means this will be a no buy for me. I want to play my character, not have one forced on me again.

@LobselVith8: While we disagree on many topics about the DA universe - on this we are in agreement.

I don't want other people to not have the chance to play elves - I understand that they are very popular.

But if I had to "fight" for any non-human race - elf would be at the very bottom. Under - like... Brontos or something.

Well, yeah. It was bad when I've heard for DA2, not this time, because I already knew they wouldn't do it.

I love the idea of being an elf again, I feel it may be a bit too soon to start talking about this... but hey it may up the chances. I'm also very curious at the possibility of playing a kossith. Let's just hope for the best.

Well, we don't know anything about multiplayer yet, and as I stated, I'm not interested in it anyway because I never play multi player. I can see that if playable races were included in MP, then for many people that would be an unsatisfactory compromise. My point was just that making requests for DA4 seems a little premature.

That being said, I suppose the devs did bring it on themselves by mentioning playable races in DA4 at the expo.

Which isn't related to the race options, since if Bioware wants they could've made the human PC free to have his own opinions about religions.

I never played the MP in ME3 and I surely don't want it in DA3, but a lot of people want it.
