Do you believe it is possible that at some point later in the game, The Divine can die or be killed and we assume her place? And if so, would this option be restricted to female PCs only?

And if not the PC, could we choose the next Divine from a bunch of candidates with different views, like one may believe in mage freedom, another may believe in the extermination of all magically gifted people.

I would think unlikely on all counts. The Chantry's relevance to the plot is somewhat reduced from before, and becoming Divine is a whole nother ballpark from what the game's focus would otherwise be about.

It is somewhat possible that the Divine could die and the PC has a role in choosing the successor, but given the Templar Order's split from the Chantry, the relevance of the Chantry has been reduced to such that they are not overtly a major player in the war(so far as we know).

I doubt we'd become the Divine. It'd be another Revered Mother most likely, or at a stretch, Leliana, (since she's alive no matter what, there's a voice in my head saying the voices in her head weren't just her imagination and she's the "new" Andraste).

First, it should be obviously restricted for female PC, since the priests are always females. Second, it would be impossible since the PC isn't a priest.
For the second question, I don't know. The PC should have an incredible power and influence over the Chantry to have a word in the Divine's election.

FYI the Seekers also split from the Chantry and joined the Templars. [this occured before Varric's interrogation in DA2, making Cassandra and the guys at the end of DA2 Chantry loyalists]

Hopefully Justinia doesn't die, she's as moderate of a Divine as they come. She's kind of like Elthina with a spine.

No, i don't think anything like this could happen. Its clear we are part of Inquisition, but that is not a chantry - a Divne comes from Chantry. Inquisition is separated from them, as far as i know, or fall under their authority. It would be like picking a Minister of Internal(State) Affairs from Police Department.

The Templar Order was formed from the Inquisition. The Seeker of Truth oversee the Templar Order and are feared by the templars and apostates both. With the Templar Order having broken off with the Chantry, the Seekers of Truth now make up the Chantry's military arm.

We still don't know if the PC will be part of the Inquisition or the Seekers of Truth or any other faction.
