Me, yes.

Very much yes. 

Because it seemed that all the expense that goes into making a different race as justification for a single race is thrown out of the window if you do it anyway, but restrict it to multiplayer.

I'm pretty happy with the decision. I'd rather have a fleshed out human only protagonist as opposed to a more superficial one whose race I could choose.
I didn't expect anything else either after the confirmation of a voiced pc.

I felt all of the races got fleshed out well in the first game though. The origins were great.

Me personally, if I can't have them in SP, I'd love to have them in MP.

Which doesn't change the fact that Origins provided the player with the option of being from different races and backgrounds, and some people want to see this feature return. I don't see why the developers decided to make an exclusively human storyline when this is precisely what we were given in Dragon Age II, which severely divided fans. In my humble opinion, I think having Elven, Dwarven, and Kossith Origins would be been better than another Dragon Age where we can only be human.

I'm not from the crow that is seriously pissed about the lack of race options (mostly because while I wanted them to return I already knew they wouldn't) but I don't see the value of playing a elf or dwarf in MP. If I ever though MP (with I doubt, as I didnt' for ME3) I'll probably play and elf or a Kossith, but I'll have no choice to talk, choose his personality, or anything. It's not the same thing as playing a elf as the PC of the game.

As for the topic, I'd like to play as other races. That would be awesome. But it depends on what compromise has to happen. If I'm going to lose a ton of visual customization and player agency because of it, then I can live without playing as other races. Just as long as you're still showing me the fantasy Dragon Age world(that includes letting Dwarf/Elves play a big part) and giving me non-human companions, I'm ok with the decision.

It's hard to fairly judge a single feature like this when I don't know what else is going into the game. Like I said, it depends on what will be lost if you had to focus on making playable races...

In short: It's not my personal highest priority and I can live without it as long as you're throwing plenty of bones to the player in other areas.

 To be honest - I find this case very disappointing. Of course - questions and matters about production cost, time spend, working hours to make another races present available to player as avatar are valid, but on the second hand... Origins wouldn't be so great playing only as human.

Afaik, it took 6 years to develop Origins. DA II was a great game (in terms of plot, characters and overall feel I defend it 100%, in terms of mechanics only partially) in spite of only human race present. I understand the motives behind BioWare actions, but then again... if they wanna make only human, it has to be...

it HAS to be a magnificent game, with all the options to play as. Mage, blood mage, rouge, warrior, maybe even Seeker for the Chantry. The wider spread, the better. And of course, each option has to have man and a lady present to choose from (sorry, will never accept this male/female words... owful!)

If they wanna make only humans, the pressure for them do deliver great storytelling, important and valid choices are even bigger. And let's not forget - new engine calls for new adjustments in terms of not being able to import saves from DA II. I honestly wish them luck with both this matters.

If they fail, DA IV maybe dead before even planned.

That said I and others who don't like this will just have to deal with it and move on.

If there was race selection in Dragon Age III, I would have pre-ordered it and waited in line at a midnight release. Without that choice, I'll pass on the game.

There's so much they could have done with different races and their origin stories since they fleshed out the characterization of the Qunari and the elven slaves from Tevinter. The worst part, though, is that the reason we're given for not having an option is "resources." Dragon Age: Origins gave us a choice, why can't Dragon Age III? So they could devote resources to multiplayer? A pre-conceived notion that the playable character has to be voiced? Day-one DLC that you get for buying the game new as opposed to used?

For that matter, why wasn't there race selection in Dragon Age II? "Resources" simply does not work as a reason in a game with heavily repeated enviroments and objects. I've no reason to expect a better experience with Dragon Age III than the experience I got with Dragon Age II.
