How about they give us a choice at the very begining.

1) you play a default pre-made protagonist fully voiced

2) you make a custom character for the protagonist but no voice, basicly like DAO.

Then everyone gets what they want. It always comes down to choices, the more options players have the happier they will be.

Good story and gameplay are the most important things to me. I loved the backgrounds and variety of DAO so I would prefer that blueprint but the DA2 style of variations on a more specific character can still result in a great game. Make the game great and selection of a specific race or class shouldn't be a big deal.

Also, a little disappointed; I miss playing the other races, and I would have died of joy to play a kossith.  But still looking forward to the game, regardless.

I suppose I'm going to get told off by both sides, but what I would like to see is the campaign focused on making player choices meaningful. The best way to do that is to focus on the main character's actions during the story rather than during the prologue.

However, I would like DLC companions to have their own 'origin' campaign leading into the game, where the DLC characters would be playable. (Like Leliana's Song.)
