How do you avoid her death? I am going through a new playthrough right now, and would actually like to see Petrice survive.

You can side with her and the Templar in the mission with the missing Quanri delegates, then frame the Quanri with her for the death of the viscounts sons, she survives the game.

Yeah, if you supported Ser Thrask  Varnell and the anti-Qunari fanatics, she's still alive. One of the few real "choices" we get in DA2. So yeah, if she's alive I'd like to see her, in fact, I'd love to see her growing importance as, according to the wiki, she's "preparing to gather support for a schism within the Chantry". Good for her, the power hungry, xenophobic snake. Wouldn't have her any other way.

It was sad to see her go out the way she did in my playthroughs as Petrice would have made a good tavern wench.

You have to be a complete dick, but if you side with her and the Templars every time then it's possible she could live.

I'd rather not see her again in a cameo though. These voice actors don't work FOR FREE. And money spent on some characters who may or may not appear could be better spent on characters who always appear.

On multiple playthroughs and I mean a lot I never could side with them

Well she tells you this in Act 3, which is why I want to see her return, either as an antagonist or ally. Posted Image

This. As much as I loved her role in DA2, she can't be too important to the main story if she is dead in most people's playthroughs so I don't think she needs a cameo at all. And I'd hate another Leliana treatment.

In addition to everything everyone else has said, I think you have to play an aggressive Hawke to get Varnell to believe you'll side with him.

She can survive if you side with mages, the only time you need to side with the Templars is when its against the Qun.

And the second point could go for a large amount of chats depending on your import data. Oh and VAs don't just do one voice one char.

Even if you side with her and she survives (you monster), there's a good chance she died in the Chantry when it went kaboom.
